On Saturday night I was participating in a rather good quaffing session with some friends, and as it was a special evening (no kids) I quaffed on into the wee small hours. When all the quaffing had finished and pleasantries had been exchanged I set about the half mile or so journey home through quiet country lanes with only an unusually large moon for company, which was most welcome as there a no street lights in the area where I live. And also, upon gazing up at this milky white orb, it was like I was looking up at the gardian,,,,,, when I stumbled into the hedgerow and slipped down a small bank, to the sound of twigs and branches breaking, and then to the sound of crunching from my right foot. Now I can't remember when I last felt pain like it but it made me feel rather sick, but somehow managed to scramble out of the ditch and back to the track to my house, I could see the lights were on at home and movement from the kitchen, (the wife was still up). I broke of a branch and used it to steady myself for the final push home. Upon entering the kitchen were the wife was making some tea, she took one look at me (covered in bramble scratches shirt sleeve ripped and generally looking in a right state) and said "nice evening dear,,, fancy a nice cup of tea". Well after a trip to hospital in the morning and X-rays it turns out my little foray into the undergrowth has left me with a sprained ankle, damage to the metatarsal and phalanges so I'm now of for at least 6-10weeks. Oh and I didn't tell the wife I was looking up at the gardian bit. So now I'm even more exited about 9/9. Take care fellow dreamers. :-)
