Why did humanity settle and create the Last City below the Traveler? Protection right? But how are they protected? That is the tactical advantage? Just a itching question I've had.... Thank you and we the community thanks you your knowledge and time in answering these questions.
Cheers!

I just thought about it. The Traveler can terraform.
-
True, but not anymore since the darkness was pushed back.... I was just wondering what the tactical advantage is.
-
Well, perhaps before it went dormant it decided there would need to be a place where humanity could rebuild, and terraformed a spot out of what I assume would be battle-scarred earth after the Collapse.
-
I always thought the survivors scavenged bits from the traveler to make the city.

Then that means the damage present on the traveler is from darkness damage (should have had ball insurance.) Those crevices weren't present on the footage from its discovery from Mars (pretty sure they weren't.) The problem with this is that the damages are on the underside. The exact place where the people are. I still think they are keeping the occasional baddy ships away using power they can scrape from the travelers epidermis.

Thats all gonna be part of the story background that well have uncover.

I dont think that the Traveler truly does anything other than provide shade. Humanity decided that they were going to migrate under the traveler, and they built the wall there. Whether or not proximity to the traveler does anything for the city or its populace, i dont think we will know until launch.

So... If I were a leader of advance race of aliens wanting to destroy guardians I would figure away to push the traveler down to squish the city underneath lol
-
I heard....now this is a rumor, it was on the wiki awhile back, that the traveler set up some kind of force field around the city, and last why its so safe.
-
That's what I thought aswell, if you look at some of the pics of the traveler over the city you'll see clouds under it as if they are being pushed away. Could be nothing:p
-
It's a slip space shield. The invaders can't jump into orbit within a certain range near the traveller. They are forced to send ground troops. Prevents air strikes.
-
This is true. However i dont believe that is from a force field. Because you'll notice in the Lore, that there have been and are many battles along the wall defending the city. Also that it was built by titans, who died in droves constructing the wall to protect the last pieces of humanity. Also noted on other pieces of info, there are many tales of refugees making their way to the city under the traveler in the days after the collapse and how hard the trail was to get there etc.

Interesting, what do you think the wall is made of then? Only asking because it would have to be intensely powerful to ward off all of the darkness.
Interesting, what do you think the wall is made of then? Only asking because it would have to be intensely powerful to ward off all of the darkness.
The wall probably made from scraps. It doesnt ward off the darkness. The traveler gave his all to push the darkness back putting itself in the coma state it is in now. Further questions please start a new comment. Almost missed this.

Thank you... Though it's wiki, from the sky box effects that's is a good assumption.
