The fact that you are relating sports to a video game says a lot. I'm guessing you were one of those kids with twenty participation trophies on your shelf? It's a game bud, grow up.
didn't play sports when I was little.
It's a game bud, grow up.
I did grow up - that's why I don't teabag people...
I'm not a tea bagger myself but I do laugh when I see others get teabaged. I've played bungie games since marathon and when I first saw it I. Halo 2 it was hilarious and still is. I think what's wrong is you think this is a sport for some reason? There's rules to this game yes, like don't hack, don't scam people, ect... If you want to play a game with "sportsmanship" and "honor" then go outside and go play a regulated sport. Don't compare those things to a video game of all things lol. Hence why I said you need to grow up and leave the basement bud.

Edited by Jellybean10625: 8/6/2014 6:28:47 PMI'm 28 years old. And for a matter of fact I have trophies all over my house from my hs days. Yet I still game almost everyday 7+ hours a day. So do all the men at my work. We actually game at work. And everyone one of them agrees that tea-bagging is a celebration of a point. I will agree if it's an excessive tea-bagg that carries on too long or it wasn't called for then yes that's unsportsmanlike I only tea-bagg when I get a hard kill or hand to hand combat and I win. My fiancée does the same thing and she thinks it's funny as hell. Just because we are older and grew up in life doesn't mean something not funny anymore. They guys at the firehouse and others like the one I work at all think it's funny and do it themselves and their all in the 30-50 so maybe think about that. And let's just get this straight you're trying to convince us that this "code" you play by should be apart of the game and should be reportable. Good luck. I've been to a few MLG tournaments and I've seen tea-bagging there. No one cares about it.

Edited by H0RSE: 8/7/2014 5:27:20 PM
And everyone one of them agrees that tea-bagging is a celebration of a point
Well of course you would all agree on that - because you all do it... besides, what do I care what you and your work buddies think? Do you and your buddies work in the industry? Do you have any experience playing games at league-level play in addition to pubmatches? Where you guys see the teabag as a celebration, I see the teabag in any form, as unsportsmanlike - a celebration would be like shouting out, "holy shit! "awesome!" or something to that effect. The thing that differs from say a celebration after a touchdown and teabag, is that touchdown celebrations are general, not personal. Spiking a football and high-fiving the crowd while cheering, is okay, which is why it's allowed, but once you direct your celebration at the opposing team. Once your celebration can be seen as less about jubilation and more about taunting or provoking, that is when penalties are called and/or players are fined. Teabags exist on a personal level, and typically not in a celebratory manner. It's also common practice for players to teabags those they simply don't like, regardless if they defeated them in a firefight or not. Teabagging is generally used to taunt and a provoke, and regardless if you and your work buddies and millions of others see it otherwise, doesn't change this. When I can walk past a player and hear them on proxy chat saying "bad bitch,! bad bitch,! bad bitch!" as their virtual genitals smash down a defeated avatar, "just in good fun," or a "gesture of goodlwill," doesn't really come to mind.
My fiancée does the same thing and she thinks it's funny as hell.
Good for her?
Just because we are older and grew up in life doesn't mean something not funny anymore.
But I never thought it was funny to begin with...even when it was a brand new concept or at it's "prime."
They guys at the firehouse and others like the one I work at all think it's funny and do it themselves and their all in the 30-50 so maybe think about that.
Think about what? That people of older age agree with you on this? Because I care what other people think? Sorry to disappoint, but I think for myself and form my own opinions.
And let's just get this straight you're trying to convince us that this "code" you play by should be apart of the game and should be reportable. Good luck.
Who said that? I never did... I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I was just sharing something I do personally, in a thread where it seemed appropriate. Apparently, many of you didn't take too lightly to it, responding with anger, insults, threats, and overall disapproval - but apparently, I'm the one that's butthurt...
I've been to a few MLG tournaments and I've seen tea-bagging there. No one cares about it.
MLG is the bane of competitive gaming...I'm not alone on this thought.

Well considering everyone here agrees with me. And your the one picking out each individual piece of information from my post. Yeah I'd say your butt hurt. You might want to pick up some cream and get that treated.

Edited by H0RSE: 8/7/2014 6:38:32 AM
Well considering everyone here agrees with me.
You mean like-minded people agree with you? *gasp* say it ain't so!!...
And your the one picking out each individual piece of information from my post.
This tends to be how I argue/dispute points in forums - it proves nothing. Something you and others keep failing to see, is that their actually isn't anything for me to be butthurt over. My initial post was not a complaint or a whine. It was just statement giving insight into a personal gaming habit of mine, which related to the the topic of the thread. I gave my reasons for doing what I do, yet everybody immediately dismissed or ignored those points, and came to their own conclusions - I must be butthurt. If I can't explain my stance - my mindset, and why I do what I do, using actual truthful statements. If everybody is just going to ignore what's said, and just come to their own conclusions and believe what they want to believe anyway, then of course I'm going to be butthurt in the eyes of you and others, since your minds are already made up, and nothing could convince you otherwise, not even the truth. Perhaps for clarity, I should say this - players don't have to teabag me for me to add them to the list. If I see a player teabagging anyone, I will generally add them to the list, since it's the players behavior I am concerned with, not who it's directed towards.

Edited by H0RSE: 8/6/2014 5:41:01 PMregulated sport or not, has nothing to do with anything. When I play a game/sport, whether it's baseball, a video game, or -blam!-ing monopoly, I expect people to behave a certain way. When I see players exhibit behavior that conflicts with my mindset, they have shown me at a core level, that we not like-minded individuals, and thus, I don't want to play with that individual in the future. Mind you, this isn't simply the case of "he likes something I don't" - it's a bit deeper than that. I do what I do in an attempt to preserve the integrity of online gaming. When I see others break this "code" I abide by, it isn't just because they're doing things I wouldn't, it's that they have shown me that they have no integrity, either for themselves and/or the game, or that their idea of what integrity is, is so misguided, that they are doing more harm than good in their actions.
Hence why I said you need to grow up and leave the basement bud.
I've been married for 12 years, and we live on our own. I'm actually pending a mortgage on a new home as we speak.

Heh I now want to teabag him in the middle of a game of Monopoly. "You just landed on Boardwalk with a motel!" *Boom*.....*Dip, dip*....."Haha"
-
how is not tea bagging "preserving the game"? How is tea bagging having no "integrity"? it is simply spamming the crouch button on top of someones body, which suggests the sexual term for "tea bagging". this thing has been in halo since halo 2, and I even remember being in a halo reach game with a bungie employee, who did it him/herself! Now, if you have such a problem with this that you complain about it in a forum, then honestly, you shouldn't be playing the game at all

How is tea bagging having no "integrity"? it is simply spamming the crouch button on top of someones body, which suggests the sexual term for "tea bagging".
Yeah, and farting during a funeral mass is just the release of gas produced by bacteria in the gut - a completely natural phenomenon, so nobody should be offended, right?... First off, let's get one thing straight - teabagging is just one of several factors I look for when deciding to avoid a player or not. It is not the only thing, just one of the more common ones. You ask how is not teabagging "preserving the game?" because I know what it was like before tebagging was even a thing. I know what it was like before console MP gaming was a thing. I've experienced MP gaming at extremely high levels, in terms of the quality of the community playing the games. Unfortunately, shits gone way the -blam!- downhill since then, turning MP gaming from something I actually look forward to and consistently derive enjoyment from, to the cesspool we have now, that I dread having to tread through. I understand that different games have different communities, that range from "never play with this -blam!-ing community ever," to "-blam!-ing awesome," But ultimately, in my 15+ yrs. of MP gaming experience, ranging everything from pub-matches to league play, to different genres including FPS, RTS, TBS, RPG, and MMO, the biggest culprit I have found to the decline of online gaming, is the rise of MP gaming on console. I can play the same game on PC and console, and almost always, the console community is the worse of the two.
this thing has been in halo since halo 2,
And your point?... Halo 2 isn't that old. I was already playing games for 19 years when Halo 2 came out, and had 5-6 yrs. experience with online MP. Shit was different before Halo came out...
if you have such a problem with this that you complain about it in a forum, then honestly, you shouldn't be playing the game at all
First off, I never complained about anything - I just shared something I do personally - I think I've had to repeat this like at least 12 times. Second, who are you to tell me what I should or shouldn't be playing? As mentioned above, I have a shit ton of gaming experience. In addition, I also briefly worked as a gaming correspondent on a PC gaming site, as well as racked up hundreds or thousands of forum posts on gaming sites over the years. I've left reviews for countless games, have participated in over a dozen betas, both open and closed, and recently was asked in an email from the CEO from Splash Damage if I wanted to participate the closed alpha for their next upcoming game. I live and breath games - they are my passion, but apparently because I just won't conform and look at actions such as tea-bagging like how the majority of the community does, I should just hang up my coat and stop participating in MP gaming altogether. Yeah, you and others on here - you argument's on this are rock solid...

ok, I guess I came off a bit harsh. I don't really tea bag myself unless I finally killed a person who was really pissing me off, as it is usually a waste of time and leaves you vulnerable, but it doesn't really bother me. I shouldn't really complain if you avoid people since it is your choice if you do so, and a respectable one. it irks me how it bothers you so much, but what the hell, I have thousands of other people to play with. and what you said about communities, I also understand. every cod player is a narcotic asshole who is usually 9 and gets pissed every time you kill him. but I don't really ever see that apply to the "true" bungie community. the halo/bungie community has always been a great one, and i'm not talking about those people who buy the game and stop playing it after a month or two, i'm talking about the people who truly stick with bungies games and to this day still enjoy playing a round of, I dunno, halo 2, or halo 3 (me and my friends for example)

Edited by H0RSE: 8/8/2014 4:08:19 PM
it irks me how it bothers you so much,
Which is likely the same mindset a lot of others responding to me share as well, as is evident by their words and apparent tone, which why I keep stressing that if anyone is "butthurt" over anything, it's everyone else, not me. I'm doing nothing wrong. I'm not being abusive or volatile in my actions, nor am I trolling. I'm a team player, I play my role and go for the objective, and I'm not having fun at the expense of others, yet sharing what I do in this thread, has caused a lot of people to apparently lose their shit. If I mute or block someone on a forum , that is deemed acceptable, but when I do a similar act in game, for similar reasons, suddenly it's completely different and looked as whining, complaining, being butthurt, or anything else but acceptable behavior, not because it actually is these things, but just because others don't see it that way.
