This is merely a cosmetic change that won't affect you at all, but would help new players.
Red/Bravo taking over a control point presents a conceptual error. The developers are associating two different meanings to one color. Example: imagine you have never played this game or any fps. Imagine this like a question on your SATs if red is capturing point B, is red the enemy or is red the bravo team taking the point? This presents an issue. You can't answer the question based on the information given, and just because you get used to it doesn't change the fact that it is wrong.
THINK
The game just presented you with a red banner and called you the bravo team. How is this relevant if the points I capture dont turn red? Why have the team colors be red and blue if you are going to implement traditional blue = team and red = enemy mechanics. In fact, why have colors at all? Just call them alpha and bravo and don't give them banner colors that don't even do anything.
Or an easier solution is to just change the alpha/bravo colors in the bottom corner of the HUD to two different colors.
EDIT: Dumbed down post.

The control point markers are always Red for the opposing team and Blue for your team, regardless of which team you are on...
