Its officially been a year now guys and girls.
Bungie doesnt give a flying -blam!-
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Just wanted there to be a thread so Bungie can see there actually are people on here that use a Windows Phone. Its not as uncommon as youd think and im certain its well within Bungies capabilities to produce an app for Windows Phone 8. (Even Rockstar did it albeit late)
Whats even better is with cross compatible apps, any app on Windows Phone can be downloaded and work flawlessly on the windows 8.1 app store so people with surface tablets (or any windows 8 tablets) can use it too.
Help all of us become the guardians you want us to be (not just the major market share).

Until Bungie decide to release a companion app, a legend from these forums has taken upon the task of bringing an app for us windows phone users to enjoy.

i read before te beta, bungie will release the cod and a third party will make the app for WP
-
yes please for the Windows Phone and i wouldn't mine paying for it too
-
Considering the long relationship Bungie had with MS, I find it odd that they'd not make a version for Windows Phone. I had high hopes that Bungie would have been one of the few developers to deliver a multiplatform game/app. Maybe there's some negative history involved, maybe it simply comes down to money, or maybe it's just Activision. I for one would just like to know why? On a side note, I enjoy my Windows Phone experience so much that I would gladly pay for a Companion App.
-
A windows phone app would be much appreciated. I feel like I'm missing out on a portion of the game because of my preference of mobile ecosystem.
-
Yes please! Windows Phone is a great platform that would absolutely benefit from the Destiny companion app.
-
I would love to see a companion app for the Windows Phone 8. Both me and my daughter have pre-ordered Destiny and both love our Windows Phone and would use it with the game app if provided.
-
+1 came here to check and I find this, please don't make it like the Titanfall app though, that worked on my 920, but not on my 625, I guess it has to do with the RAM?
-
+1 on having a Windows Phone app. Would be cool if it could play nice with Xbox SmartGlass, too.

Edited by Smurfa 021: 7/17/2014 10:32:35 AMI've been requesting this since day one when they announced that the game would be featured in the app. But Bungie still haven't said a word, they just continue to neglect WP-users, even thought it's a growing customer base. It wouldn't be any hard for them to port either, unless they've made some extremly stupid coding. There are lot's of talented developers for WP, just give them access to the source and it would be done in no time.
-
I feel like this is what Windows Phone users knew they were getting themselves into when they got a Windows Phone. Premature app market and no motivation for developers to support because Windows Phone market share doesn't make up a big enough steak to return the developers invested time and research.
-
not just tablets but the app could be helpful on desktop / Laptop too. or are bungie just looking at the fact that Windows Tablets are full PC's and not toys like Android and Apple :D
-
Edited by lemieux: 7/20/2014 5:47:08 PMBungie is incredibly foolish to not release a Windows Companion App. Windows 8.1 platform works on BOTH the PC and Windows Phone. Hello Bungie? It is a no brainer. Please do not be foolish and stubborn on the level of a 2 year old.
-
Edited by Mikhail: 7/22/2014 1:44:11 PMI do think that the windows market is definitely smaller but they should still make an app for those with windows mobile devices. Myself, I have pretty much everything, but my main partner in Destiny has a dell windows tablet. I hope Bungie can help him out doing an app so we can have full control of our destiny.
-
Cannot imagine it would be that difficult to port over an app to WIndows phones, and there are plenty of people now that use those phones, really hope Bungie reconsiders.
-
I've got Windows and Android tablets and would definitely like to have the destiny app on the windows one. I use that one more at home while Android is for on the go. "Like"d for justice!
-
I may have my head in the clouds here but, if there were a universal windows phone app, and IF Xbox eventually gets the ability to run universal apps (which may or may not happen). We could theoretically snap the Destiny companion app while playing Destiny. How awesome would that be!
-
Hello Bungie, I know you are pissed of of Microsoft, but please make a Windows phone app. Here in Europe, WP has nearly the same market share as iPhone, leading already in some countries. So don't let us out of the fun.
-
Windows phone? I mean, come on.
-
hopefully any delay is due to a smartglass app instead of just a character viewer. imagine a smartglass app with a map layout, inventory access and other stuff. that would kick-butt.
-
Agreed, a lot of people in the office where I work and a number of the clients are progressively upgrading/swapping their iPhones and Android devices to Windows Phones. Very keen to see a WP app with or without Smart Glass - obviously Bungie has developed the app for the most popular platforms at the moment but a comment that 'Yes, a Windows Phone" version is coming out soon would be appreciated.
-
Bungie is too busy taking out their bitterness toward Microsoft out on Microsoft's fans, who also happen to make up well over 90% of their fanbase pre-Destiny.
-
As some one who is responding to this on a surface and the proud owner of a windows phone I too very much support this.
-
Personal I've had a windows phone for years now different ones. Based on my experience WP will not get support for this or much of anything.
-
Windows Phone is at a point where if a well-known app isn't on it, the developer is either stubborn or dumb. Everyone develops for WP now. What are you doing, Bungie?
-
+1 im tired of being left out because i dont have a overpriced phone or a phone that can get malware easily
