I currently drive a 2006 Sentra, and while it's a decent car I'd like a bit more.
Plus my Sentra is pretty beat up, in high school I was involved in a hit and run. So my paint is -blam!-ed all to hell, honestly for a DD the fuel economy isn't exactly the best and I want a softer ride.
I'm not thinking about buying anything soon, so this can just be a suggestion thread, and in general to tempt me. So I'll give you what I am looking for:
>I'd like a turbo
>Manual or maybe a shiftable automatic(doesn't matter too much for DD purposes)
>Sedan
>Comfortable daily driver
>Reasonably reliable, my Sentra has been pretty damn reliable
>Not very expensive to own, IE decent on insurance(hence the sedan bit) and decent on gas
>Minimum MPG's being 28 highway
>under 10 grand
Admittedly I've already been looking at older Volvos and Saab 9-3's, but I'd like some outside input. Primarily because they come with a decent amount of creature comforts with the fun of a turbo

Half your criteria is all foreign territory to me.

There's a car called 'Sentra'? Does it constantly hate on everybody, and have nothing better to do than sit around on an internet forum all day, saying stupid shit?

a new designated driver?

Go with a Hyundai Genesis coupe. It's got good mpg, decent hp and a naturally aspirated V6 with a manual transmission (it sounds pretty good to).
Naturally Aspirated > Turbo.
The Sentra isn't that bad. I think I'll be getting the same year Sentra like you in a month or two.

i'm not sure what nearly-30-mpg sedan you can get for under $10k.
