I went to the Ford dealership yesterday because they were giving me a free oil change on muh Sentra.
So I was out in the lot just browsing cars, and a salesman came up to talk to me. I made it clear that I wasn't looking for a new car till later this year, but he persisted. He eventually got around to asking what I did for a living, and I told him I work at the local Daimler plant. He then proceeded to throw me into their nicest 5.0 manual and let me take her out for a spin.
It was a premium, and honestly I was surprised by how much I -blam!-ing loved that car. The gear box is probably one of the best 6 speeds I've ever driven, and honestly the 5.0 won me over. It's not overly sophisticated sure, but I'll be damn if it's not fun to drive. So I'll rattle off my pros and cons for everyone.
Pros:
>The interior was comfortable, surprisingly so
>Made one hell of a noise
>The 6 speed manual is by far one of the best I've ever driven
>It's got a comfortable ride quality to it, so it's a pretty perfect DD
>I loved the brushed aluminum feel of the shifter
>Good notchy feel going in and out of gears, very confidence inspiring
>The throws were mega short, and super accurate
Cons:
>Seating position is honestly pretty bad, you sit too high
>Also while the seats were comfortable, they weren't very supportive
>The -blam!-ing seats tilt you forward so I felt like I was sitting on the car and not in it

Mustangs do sit a little higher than what you are used to, but nothing an Eibach pro kit wouldn't fix.
