My memory fails me, Lord of Admirals. I seek yours in its stead.
Didn't a Flood Infested Cruiser land in Africa in Halo 3? Right afterJohn and Thel destroy and AA-Battery and the the Prophet activates the Ark Portal, A Cruiser teleportation right above John and The Arbiter and lands and then you have to fight them as Rtas' Elites drop to help you.. Am I missing something? The Flood was ON Earth?!

Yes, and then Rtas had his ships glass the area the Flood had infested.

Edited by Atlas: 6/14/2014 4:42:49 PMBut wouldn't the infestation most likely survive that? If the Flood is anything it's resilient, so what if it manages to grow back? Or is it proven that a Cruiser's Ventral beam is sufficient enough? Thanks Chronarch

It was an incredibly small-scale infestation at the time which made it easier for it to be destroyed. Roland notes in Spartan Assault that Earth would've fallen in mere hours if Rtas hadn't glassed part of the continent, so we were lucky. Of course, the bit that still doesn't make sense in Halo 3 is the fact that the Gravemind just decided not to drop some Flood down to Earth when he went to go to the Ark through the portal High Charity can't fit through...

Perhaps Hood was shooting down drop pods and other flood vessels?

Hmm, gladly noted. And I was just thinking about that too, why not screw Humanity over by distracting them with a larger infestation? Thus there wouldn't have been as much offensive action cause we'd be trying to get rid of the Flood.. We'll see I guess. Maybe they'll explain it more *shrug* Thanks again mate
