Apparently the widow of the driver thinks that the car was only going 55.
I'm sure the DOT tested the evidence already, but if the memory chip from the airbag is intact, it would tell the real speed at time of impact.

I've never seen a tire suddenly steer a direction by itself without a suspension part failing. But one tire alone at 55? Sounds very unlikely to me.

If it was a problem with the suspension it would have been noticed before the exact moment the incident took place. I feel like it was drivers error in this case. It's sad, but trying to use her husbands death to get rich is much worse
