You're taking it too literally, we don't know the exact time. And even so he crated light first, regardless of the sun, moon and stars.
Even when the Bible says God's day is 1000 years, it doesn't mean exactly a thousand. It's just an expression of quantity.

It doesn't specify. But it's possible it was a self sustaining light, not needing a source or boundary until the sun. I think the creator of the universe would be able to make something like that, don't you?
