I just got dark souls 2
Any tips for a noob to the series?

Don't get cocky. Literally any enemy can kill you if you make the slightest mistake. Be sure to talk to every NPC you you meet until they start saying the same things. Above all else, Dark Souls is a fashion game. It doesn't matter if the armor is amazing, if it looks like shit, don't wear it. Its all about looking awesome while kicking ass.
