My dad was my big influence. He always had a cool car, or something unique when I was growing up. I was always around cars. We went to a lot of shows, and other events. My dad's has had about 100 cars in his life and most of them were cool in some way. My favorite was his 1970 Cutlass, which looks very similar to the one in this picture. My dad got me into cars, what got you into them?

Edited by Cobravert: 4/9/2014 3:17:57 PMHonestly I don't know. This morning in taking my son to school, I had to stop at a 4-way intersection. As I took off from it, we passed a couple of kids that were on the sidewalk making their way to the elementary school. One was a girl, probably 10, and a boy, probably 7. The boy heard my car as we left the 4-way, stopped, turned, and stared. As we got closer to him you could see the 'look' on his face that a car guy has when the right type of car crosses their path. He is a future car guy. I guess that's the way it was for me too. It was just the thing I gravitated toward at a young age. In 1969 I saw a brand new, red Mustang Mach I sitting in the church parking lot. After church I HAD to go look at it. I didn't know why, I just HAD to. It's been that way ever since. My Dad was very mechanical, but he never had a muscle or sports car, so I didn't get it from him really. But he did teach me how to work on engines. Through my own reading and comprehending I expounded on the mechanical understanding and when he had me rebuild his truck engines, I made them meaner.
