I need a Windows 8 DVD/Blu-Ray solution.
So maybe going with windows 7 would have been the better choice, but I find myself stuck in this position of having a BD burner with no software to get the job done. So, what software to you recommend for playback, burning, and ripping?

You can get CDburnerXP and other freeware utilities at http://ninite.com/. The site allows you to build an "all-in-one" installer/updater (keep the download and it will update apps when you run it again) that installs all of the apps/utilities without any dialogs, malware, adware, toolbars or other annoying "extras".
