Blog post comin' at'cha.
Anyway, this annoying girl at my college - a lot of you may know her as Guitar Girl - was playing her guitar during class again. We were all working on the computers typing up a piece of work, as instructed, however she had written a few things in her book, sat on the table and began to play. The teacher told her not to, and her excuse was that she was merely tuning it; nonetheless, almost everybody found it annoying.
So, near the end of the lesson, another called asked her politely to stop playing her guitar to the tune of something like: "Could you please stop playing your guitar, it's really beginning to annoy us". She responded that it doesn't bother her and told us to just ignore it.
Fast forward to the end of the lesson and it's just her, two friends of mine and I. My one friend is explaining how she would find it annoying if she were to play a tambourine if she were trying to work, to which Guitar Girl responded: "It wouldn't bother me, I'd just ignore it."
This is the transcript of the conversation I had with her following this, with myself in italics:
"Yes, but the point is that it annoys everybody else."
"I don't care."
"Yes, but you should. It doesn't help when we're trying to work and you refuse to stop doing whatever unnecessary thing it is that annoys us - why weren't you on the computer?"
"I don't like technology. Besides, I don't care if it annoys you, it's just tough."
"Jesus, you're an ass," I go to walk out of the room.
"You're a prick."
I turn around and shout: "If you play that -blam!-ing guitar during a lesson again, I'll break it over your -blam!-ing head!" - she goes to say something as I walk out - "-blam!- you!"
Considering she has been bugging everybody in the class for months on end with her incessant playing, I don't think I was unjustified in my actions.
