I was thinking, could evade have worked better than sprint in Halo 4? I see evade solely as an extension to strafing, which has been a core aspect of halo since CE.
Yes, we have the thruster pack, but think what it would be like if there was no sprinting or thruster pack, just a nerfed down version of reach's evade. Would that have been better or worse than what we have now?
Sorry, I know these Halo 4 threads are getting real old. But this is a theory i'd rather share with the b-netians.
Both=Bullshit.

Evade is solely an extension to strafing, huh? Never post about Halo again.

could've worked better
-
No way, evade is extremely OP.
-
Halo 4 > Reach. Evade > Thruster pack.
*Straps on flame suit.*
-
Certainly toning it down would be nice, seeing as though the only reason it was so useful in Reach was because Elites could do it. Spartans just looked unatural and fake doing it.
-
Tone down evade's range and it's good. It should look like campaign AI movement.
-
Loved evade

I prefer a proposed system in which sprint is disabled, but evade or thruster pack is in its place as an option. While still providing a burst of speed, it does not harm map flow nearly as much as sprint, if at all.
-
What if we didn't have any of that shit, and the game was actually good?
-
I loved evade when you turned all the movement settings to highest then zoomed all the way across forge world... Good times.
-
What exactly was wrong with Sprint in Halo 4? I ask not to neccesarily contradict, but to understand.
-
Evade is more useful. But, you can't sprint jump with Evade. (Obviously.)
-
If only the Thruster Pack had more... thrust.
-
A default thruster pack would be better for strafing if it was in the first person. Rolling is a bit too much. Also, as a disclaimer, I due not support the implication of a default Sprint/Evade/Etc. in Halo.
-
Elites should have Evade. Spartans should have Sprint.
-
I like evade more than I like the thrusters. Based on Reach's evade to 4's Sprint I would have to choose sprint. If they modified evade then it might work. Warrants further investigation
-
No, I do not think so. I don't have any particular quarrel with sprint, but all in all I don't think that Halo needs any movement modifiers outside of custom games options.
-
There's some useful stuff the thruster pack does bits it's pretty bad. Seems like in campaign it was better as it didn't just make me move an inch.
-
I feel like a leap to the side works better than a barrel roll.
-
A small evade roll would have been okay maybe, but it was broken in Reach because you could move your facing direction while doing it, you should be looking the same way you were when you initiated it, not this "my head is doing a 180 while my body is flying at a 90 degree angle."
