I think by now most people are aware that Obama repeatedly promised over the last 3 years that "if you like your health care plan, you can keep it, period."
He made this promise in many ways, dozens of times. He used "period" and "end of story" to reassure voters.
It's being reported today that back in 2010 at a White House conference meeting with congressional members, Obama acknowledged openly that "8 to 9 million people...might have to change their coverage." It was videotaped. It is on Youtube.
After this meeting in 2010 where Obama admitted that millions might not be able to keep their plans, Obama went on to state the opposite to the American people.
So now we know with certainty that back in 2010 Obama knew full well that people could not keep their plans, period.

Edited by Ad Hoc: 11/9/2013 10:13:15 PMYes, he did lie, It's been obvious since 2009 that there was no way everyone could keep their current health plans. On the other hand, Republicans are exaggerating the impact. Only 5% of Americans purchase health care on their own, and even less have lost their current plans under the ACA. Most of these people have "bare-bone" plans that don't meet the ACA's minimum standards for health coverage (mental health benefits, prescription drug coverage, vaccinations, dental and vision care for children, maternity care for women, etc). If a small number of well-off people have to pay more to help those in need, I'm fine with it.
