Like, as a "right wing" being friends with a "liberal", or the other way around?
What kind of friendship would it be? Just friends, best friends or even relationship?

I was smart enough to not talk about politics while in college. But one of my closest friends is on the other side of the political spectrum. I am pretty Libertarian and he is a bit more Liberal, but we are not attached to parties or ideologies. He would have voted for a Republican if they nominated Huntsman.

I've lost a few friends this past month bc of politics... Their love for Obama was intolerable, and made me realize they were morons...
-
I'm already just friends with one of them and we are still well connected anyways
-
I find it better to not ask.
-
Do they play Halo?
-
I probably am right now.

My husband has different views than I on many things. Political views bing one of them.

I dont give a shit about local politics atm u can be a satanist or a communist and id still b ur bud as long as u wouldnt talk about that boring shit
-
Depends on how extreme they are.
-
I don't care about politics. So it's never been an issue.
-
You'd be shallow not to. My girlfriend and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Politics just don't usually come up, or we discuss then like civilized people.
-
Yeah. I have many friends with differing political views.

I already do.....I have plenty of friends who are wildly different in terms of political ideals, religion and sexuality.... One factor should never make or break your view on a person, unless its extreme, like, being a member of westboro.

I'm friends with people I don't generally agree with on any topic. Idk why. I need to fix that shit.

I'm friends with people who don't give a shit. Like me.
They also happen to be Christians while I remain Atheist, if that means anything.
Yea, we just dont talk about that

Edited by iGraviton: 8/29/2013 9:04:20 PMEveryone knows you keep both religion and politics out of any relationship. You can be friends with someone if their views are completely different, as long as you don't talk about them.

Most my friends are politically divergent.
-
Yeah. Opinions don't affect relationships for me (unless they're extreme or just plain stupid)
-
My best friend and I have polar opposite political views. Took one major blow-up to realize we simply can't discuss such things with each other. No biggie.
-
As long as they don't try to force whatever their opinion is on me, I don't care. I typically don't ask about people's political orientation anyway.

Some of my friends are liberals, especially one of them. We all get along just fine. We keep our friendship sane by not talking about political stuff, but the few times we do, it's not to rustle one's jimmies, it's to actually have a conversation. They never end with a fight.
