The point was raised in HM Rob's thread, in a strange manner that didn't work so well.
So here's a direct question for the atheists of Secular Sevens; what would it take for you to become a Christian?

I just realized I somehow made this thread public when I made it Question for S7s mods: should I make it private?

Hey, this is off topic, but Mad Max was sick. they need to make a new one. The second one was the best.

I'm already a moderate Roman Catholic, but Catholicism is a sect of Christianity. Honestly, I was a die-hard Catholic until I went to college. While I'm religious, I'd love to see more of what those people preach. They preach happiness and love and equality for everyone. Yet, when the subject of gay marriage or anyone who is gay pops up, they treat them like shit or say that they don't deserve it. Again, I'm religious, I'm Catholic, but I would love to see religious people stop acting like hypocrites. This is a broad generalization, but from my personal experience, I'd say it's justified to label Catholics (At least, from my parish) as hypocritical douchebags.

so much misunderstanding of the bible. 10 percent of all humans to exist...
-
I need scientific research, tested hypotheses, and valid conclusions. I need evidence for The modern Gods the same way I need evidence to believe in Zeus, or Thor, or Horus.

What I would give to hear God say to humanity, "Christianity is false".

Even if I saw God himself before me, I'd just chalk it up to the drugs and lack of sleep making me hallucinate.

Nothing less than 100% proof the Christian God exists. And it's funny reading all of these internet-tough guy responses that even if God was proven to exist they still wouldn't worship him. Would it be the "right" thing to do seeing as God tends to be a humongous wang? No, but if it was proven not worshipping him would land you an eternity in the kind of torment you literally cannot comprehend, and worshipping him would land you an eternity of happiness, you would have to actually be fundamentally retarded to not worship him. As incomprehensibly stupid as the incomprehensible pain you'd be feeling in hell.

My non-trolly answer? Jesus needs to fly down and deliver me to a life of Earthly wonders. That won't happen though, since magic doesn't exist.
-
It's almost scary how the whole "euphoric in intellectual enlightenment" joke stereotype applies to pretty much every atheist in this thread.

Prove to me that Christians didn't kill the pagans and steal their holidays.

Absolutely undeniable proof that it was true.

Evidence for actual christian god as it is described in the bible.

Like I said before, the lord himself coming down to earth, saying 'hi', then shooting off to Africa to feed all the starving people.
-
My logic is that if god truly is all-powerful, he wouldn't have any problem coming down once every few thousand years and saying "yeah I'm here."

If I had the ability to go back in time and witness Jesus myself.

God revealing himself or something incredible that changes my life.

If 'God' magically appeared in front of me and turned me into a flying spaghetti monster.

Solid evidence of that stuff being real. I'm open minded. Just prefer science.

Edited by DMMetalaane: 8/12/2013 7:43:44 PMFor the actual BASE concepts to be rooted in science, then I might believe. This said, that's a reason why I find it a hell of a lot easier to find truth in Wicca than I do in most other religions. But as Daz said, even if the Judeo-Christian deity existed...I still wouldn't like him and I'd tell him to piss off.
