11 RepliesOk I have to say this I'm one of first people to jump on the ak love train and I completely agree it's better than anything armalight could put out But that wiki might have given me cancer. Under no circumstance can an assault rifle ever also be a shotgun. They work totally differently and the ak-12 is a confirmed assault rifle. Kalashnikov weapons will never fire 5.56 ammunition. If you wanted to fire 5.56 you'd have swap the firing mechanism and barrel for products Kalashnikov never had and never will produce. Take this from someone who's actually fired and taken apart an ak-47. That wiki is insane

lmao....you have no idea how it works then if you think it is the best thing ever it can only chamber one caliber at a time it is in standardized 5.54 (less effective than a 5.56) it cannot operate underwater the gas system is closer to the m16 than the original AK system HK416OTB is a better option russia is trying to get back into the dick measuring arms race
