Thousands of Chinese civilians died by Hirohito's command, with his authorization of Unit 731 which committed horrible experiments on the Chinese which would make Josef Mengele jealous to dropping plague rats on Chinese villages and utilizing chemical weapons on Chinese civilians. He also removed the constraints of international law on Japanese soldiers, which caused the deaths of 300,000 people during the -blam!- of Nanjing.
Seriously, how the -blam!- wasn't he drawn and quartered? He should have been tried during the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal. The man has the blood of thousands of civilians on his hands the the Japanese give him a full state funeral.
Yes, I know it was to try and make the Japanese look more kindly towards America, but it obviously has not worked, there is high anti-American sentiment in Japan and you'll be lucky if the -blam!- of Nanjing will be mentioned in a footnote in a Japanese history book. I know, I may be biased because my grandparents had to flee China due to the Japanese, but its just maddening to know that Hirohito was not labeled as the war criminal he is.
Yes, I know that they had two atomic bombs dropped on them (and rightfully so, the bombings were necessary to get the fanatical Japanese to surrender) but Hirohito was unharmed and got to live a long life despite causing the deaths of thousands of Chinese civilians. Where's the justice in that?
If I ever go to Japan, I'll go to his tomb, and spit on it, Hirohito deserves no honor.

From what I have read from the internet and school, it seems the blame is on his generals not Hirohito specifically. However I still believe that he is responsible for all the nasty blam that happened under the Japanese occupation. It warps reality that they didn't try him as a war criminal, it would be if Hitler said "I didn't murder the Jews, my generals did". Alas there are cases like this all over the world more specifically former members of the Khmer rouge......
