The thing was written at the end of the 18thC during a not so revolutionary revolution. I get that it defends certain rights and liberties and such, but for -blam!-'s sake, society and politics are evolving entities. If certain weapons are prohibited with disregard to the second amendment, who gives two flying turds? You don't need an assault rifle for defensive purposes. Not to mention that both sides are guilty of picking and choosing what to abide by and what to ignore.
