I currently have a Droid 3, but my contract renews in May so I'm shopping around. I do typing-intensive stuff like email and discussion boards, stream media, etc. At this point, I'm planning on a Droid 4 because I like the physical keyboard, but so many phones have peripheral keyboard accessories that it's no longer a dealbreaker. I'm open to an iPhone only because it tends to be lag-proof by devoting a core to aesthetic functions.
Post your recommendations, preferably explaining why.

I'd take a look at the iPhone 5, if only for funsies. The Galaxy S4 is an obvious choice, since it's pretty much the flagship Android phone now. All the usual high-end features, plus removable battery and microSD expansion. Top-notch camera, too. Lots of developer support, if rooting and custom ROMs are your thing. I would also take a look at the Galaxy Note II: it's big but you can get accustomed to it pretty fast, and its biggest strength (IMO) is its fantastic battery life. Finally, keep an eye out for the HTC One. It's got the best screen on a smartphone, great build quality, and an innovative camera that captures awesome low-light shots. Also, the speakers are front-mounted and don't suck. It's been getting delayed over and over, so who knows.
