Edited by Macharius: 4/21/2013 1:42:40 AMLong post ahead! Collapsed in spoilers so there is less scrolling for others.
Are any of the following directly involved: a) The God Emperor b) Magnus c) Lorgar d) Tzeetch e) Khorne f) Nurgle g) Aza'gorod (unbroken) h) Mephet'ran (unbroken) i) Gork j) Mork k) Orikan l) Any Alpha or higher psyker m) Khaine (unbroken) n) The Hive Mind o) Iash'Uddra (unbroken) p) Ahriman q) Kairos r) Malcador All of these characters (with the exception of Orikan, Iash'Uddra, Mephet'ran, and Aza'gorod ) are pyskers. It has been noted that the reason Superman is weak to magic is because his powers are biological in nature and not supernatural. Therefore, they offer no protection from magic. While pyskers are not the same magic as DC magic, they share some similarities (like complete disregard for physics). Superman has been shown to be susceptible to mind control, and many pyskers are capable of mind control. For example, an Alpha pysker managed to control a significant portion of a hive city, including machines. Some pyskers are even capable of stopping time. The God Emperor demonstrated this ability by stopping time in the Imperial Palace for everyone but an Inquisitor. However, pyskers other than the Emperor have been shown doing similar actions. An Eldar managed to freeze time on an entire craftworld, and the space surrounding it. Other pyskers, such as Ahriman, are capable of manipulating matter on a molecular level, breaking apart and reforming atomic bonds as they wish. The 4 people I mentioned above are not pyskers but posses massive abilities none the less. Iash'Uddra, Mephet'ran, and Aza'gorod are all C'tan, and are directly stated to have omnipotence. They are capable of creating supernovae, black holes, among other abilities. A C'tan is also capable of sending an enemy to before time began (not specified if this is before the Big Bang, or something more esoteric). Orikan is likely the weakest person on this list, but he is a time traveler. Superman may be super strong, but Orikan could always go back and kill him before he was born, or when he was vulnerable at some point in his past.
TL; DR: How many pyskers and gods can 40k bring to the fight? The OP did say the entire 40k universe.
