Bungie I refused to believe it...but this place is a near ghost town.
I mean half the people who always came on these forums have just left completely well most of the people I know on here. I mean...why? Did the new update/layout do it.
Many did not like the new socialized layout and preferred the old traditional forum layout (Like me). So that's a reason why so many have left.

Well there isn't a whole lot to discuss now... Halo has moved elsewhere, Destiny is no more the an announced title, and there hasn't been quality off topic discussion on here in years.

It feels more like a downgrade or separate service if anything. What happened to being original? I thought Bungie's "New Hawtness" was going to be different from sites like Twitter, Origin's Battlefield 3 network, Reddit, etc. While they certainly took care in making this, it's simply bad! We can't even PREVIEW our posts. Groups also took a hit, but I wouldn't know as to what extent.

I try to post as much as I can but it's becoming difficult. Life's getting in the way: increasing my hours at work, friends, relationships, school, etc.

I don't know why, but I do remember I used to post at least 25 times a day before the update. Hopefully they'll some back for when Destiny is released.

The layout definitely made me inactive. The tag system, odd post sorting, lack of title system, reply and comment system and the general layout were factors that made me dislike the site. This is my first post I have made in months. Before the update I made at least 10 posts daily. I respect their efforts, but Bungie really ruined the site with the update.

I hate having to scroll down and back up again. I hate not having pages. User name changes should be only a onetime thing, or once every year or two. I know being a member of this forum for 3 years now. I don't think even people that have been here since H2 are still here now. I know the dedicated ones are. I also know most of them retreated to private groups. I see them in private groups. That's pretty much where all old members went. We all love this forum, the laughs, the amazing hot topics that you would watch as people went crazy and ninjas would do a carpet ban, COUP, other site plugins that made it easier, but its gone. I still think bungie has alot to work on. I'm not saying change it back to the old layout, but just to make some things about being on this site easier such as post pages, username change limit, and more customization(#bringbackcoup2013).

The design guys do not seem to accept the fact that NOT EVERYTHING NEW IS GOOD. There have been good things from the overhaul, but the bassackwards posting and nested replies HAVE KILLED PRIVATE GROUP INTIMACY AND ACTIVITY. What will it take before they understand this? The immediate changes that are needed top save what is left of B.net: -Please reinstate the proper descending post order, and OPEN posts, no more nested conversation killers. -Please give us the ability to hide/mute #tags Only then may the slow death of private groups, which have become the real livelihood of B.net be saved. 1 ReplyIt probably has more to do with the fact Halo is no longer here and Destiny is still a ways off. Communities are built around games and currently we don't have one. :) So a lot of people are probably going to be underground/absent until we come closer to Destiny's release. I myself am passing the time by beating my head against my League of Legends rank.

The update has definitely killed off a lot of activity. Post order and nesting are my main problems.

I think that the people on here are just picky, either what you post is interesting, or it isn't. (personally I like it that way, but it changes when a game releases)

3 RepliesIt's been a chain reaction, started by the update, fueled by people leaving. Once destiny is out I'm gonna stay in that section of the forums and leave the rest of the sub-forums alone.

I too, am intimidated by the new update to B.net, and I also haven't been as active as I was just over a month ago, but as Euphorius stated, the lack of more information concerning Destiny has possibly forced some folk into hiding. However, just because they are not active in the public forums, does not mean they aren't living it up in private groups :)
