I'm going to assume this has been posted already today, but I didn't see anything on the immediate front page so I thought I'd post it anyways.
What I can decipher from the cards:
... Everything changed with the arrival of the traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization … system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built… Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with
… of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City… Reclaim all that we have lost.
… Evolution of entertainment - an incredible story set within a newly-imagined,... connected universe filled with action and adventure.
… character, forge your legend by defeating powerful foes, and earn unique... customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.
… variety of FPS gameplay that redefines the genre and breaks traditional… s of story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, combined with ... social activities.
So, let's break this down:
- Expansive universe created with the premise of exploring the galaxy (with assistance from the Traveler) to reclaim lost worlds.
- Extensive character customization, with custom weapons, armour, and vehicles
- MMO elements (teaming up to defeat powerful foes), as well as the aforementioned customization
- FPS variety gameplay that differs from traditional genre
- Cooperative and multiplayer modes
AKA - Destiny is an FPS space epic with RPG elements and MMO emphasis on gameplay and social interaction
-
It "breaks the traditional conventions of story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes," etc. This is NOT confirming competitive multiplayer. It's saying it breaks the standard conventions of those modes. Which means they're saying it's going to be completely different from "Co-op here, competitive here" But what this means, we don't know yet.
