I'm going to assume this has been posted already today, but I didn't see anything on the immediate front page so I thought I'd post it anyways.
What I can decipher from the cards:
... Everything changed with the arrival of the traveler. It sparked a Golden Age when our civilization … system, but it didn't last. Something hit us, knocked us down. The survivors built… Traveler, and have begun to explore our old worlds, only to find them filled with
… of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield incredible power. Defend the City… Reclaim all that we have lost.
… Evolution of entertainment - an incredible story set within a newly-imagined,... connected universe filled with action and adventure.
… character, forge your legend by defeating powerful foes, and earn unique... customizable weapons, gear, and vehicles.
… variety of FPS gameplay that redefines the genre and breaks traditional… s of story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, combined with ... social activities.
So, let's break this down:
- Expansive universe created with the premise of exploring the galaxy (with assistance from the Traveler) to reclaim lost worlds.
- Extensive character customization, with custom weapons, armour, and vehicles
- MMO elements (teaming up to defeat powerful foes), as well as the aforementioned customization
- FPS variety gameplay that differs from traditional genre
- Cooperative and multiplayer modes
AKA - Destiny is an FPS space epic with RPG elements and MMO emphasis on gameplay and social interaction
What I can decipher from the cards:
Do you mean that you read the card ? Why call it deciphering ?
-
Kinda sucks that its another FPS. Would rather have preferred an over the shoulder view like in Gears.
-
I really hope it lives up to those three bullet points. Can't wait : )

Sounds like Borderlands and Halo had a baby with Skyrim and Oblivion being the God Parents.
-
HA!, at the bottom says "Microsoft is not the publisher of Destiny. Activision has no affiliation with Halo.", maybe there is a "we won't give you blue flames"
-
Does this count as a leak? I mean there's nothing we didn't already know about but still...
-
Microshit better not screw Bungie over by not letting them add some Halo references in Destiny.
-
Confirm a map editor and I'm completely sold.
-
It's kind of funny there are pre-order stuff out already. Considering we haven't even seen a teaser trailer yet.
-
I don't want to click those links or read this post, I'll wait till Monday to see what Bungie tells us.
-
Sounds awesome. I am incredibly excited for Sunday. I want to know every detail possible... except for the plot, which they'd better not spoiler all of. Leave SOME things for us to find! 343 gave up pretty much every nook and cranny of Halo 4 before launch which left no surprises. That shouldn't be the case!
-
So..pumped..That last part in the first picture.
-
Ugh makes me sick seeing PS3 on there
-
Glad its FPS anyway. I can't remember if it was actually ever confirmed or not.
-
Well, this is better than I expected. Bungie could of just made another competitive shooter and it would still be good. But no, they're gonna have freaking MMO elements, customizable weapons armor, and vehicles, and supposed unique gameplay. Activision, shut the blam up and take my money!
-
Lol. "From the creators of Halo and the producers of Call of Duty" That'll really bump up the maturity level of this game....
-
Edited by Lincoln Osiris: 2/16/2013 1:34:02 AMHonestly, the thought of another current-gen title sounds really unimpressive. I just lost a lot of interest. I just hope this info is incomplete, and that it will also be "next-gen" released.
-
Alittle disappointed that we found out through a leak - but awesome to know I bet "vehicles" means space ships based on art leaks. And we get access to the planets - man this game is going to be awesome
-
Nice! Also does this mean Destructoid has broken the embargo?
-
This is really upsetting. Really, you couldn't keep it to yourselves until they released it? C'mon, Destructoid.
-
Customizable vehicles?! Halo: Borderlands Rogue Squadron. Yes!
-
It "breaks the traditional conventions of story, cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes," etc. This is NOT confirming competitive multiplayer. It's saying it breaks the standard conventions of those modes. Which means they're saying it's going to be completely different from "Co-op here, competitive here" But what this means, we don't know yet.
-
Vehicles? Sounds good to me!

Edited by Braydzz: 2/15/2013 11:17:47 PMIsn't posting Bungie game leaks against the rules still?
-
Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh! I can't wait! :D This game looks like it's going to be amazing!
