Microsoft has blown it with the Xbox, and now it's at risk of Apple totally destroying the business, Nat Brown, the founder of the original Xbox project, recently wrote on his blog.
"Apple, if it chooses to do so, will simply kill Playstation, Wii-U and xBox by introducing an open 30%-cut app/game ecosystem for Apple-TV," Brown writes. [/quote]
What do you think? Apple has dabbled in the possibility of entering the video game market before (if you recall, they even thought about acquiring Bungie back in the day) and there is no denying that the Xbox user experience definitely isn't as good as it could be.
What would you think of an Apple console-like device (or as this guy alludes to, a digital distribution network)? We've seen a lot of companies start thinking about moving into gaming (Steambox, Ouya) where it has generally been a duopoly for gamers between Microsoft/Sony.

Apple can't compete with Xbox if all they plan on doing is adding a box or client service for their apple TV's to have digital content only. How many big game sales come from Digital distribution that aren't arcade quality? How many console users download full games from the marketplace in games on demand? Apple can't touch Microsoft with the way they do things right now when it comes to serious in home gaming.
