This question is based off another topic I created, where I asked if angels were gods. Many responses were based around the thought that since they were created, they could not be gods.
So my question is why couldn't gods create gods?
Why couldn't God then have created lesser gods, angels?
In addition, have their been any religions where folks believe this has happened? And I don't mean through birth, I mean through creation (though, arguably, are they not essentially the same thing?)

Yes; it's a doctrine of Eastern Orthodox Christianity. In the words of St. Athanasius, "God became man so that men may become god." Humans are gods because our God became human and thus elevated humanity into godhood. We are the only Abrahamic religion where we could say that we are gods without being stoned or accused of blasphemy.
