The site will never allow you to like things because it isn't a social network?
Well, now it's a social network. And a sucky one at that.
Basically what i'm saying is this is clearly a clever and cruel ploy from Bungie. As we all know, Bungie hates each and every one of us with a violently burning passion. They've pretty much always hated their fans. And now that they've got new fans on the horizon, they want to get rid of us.
B.next is a trap to clear out all the loyal member, making way for the new members coming with Destiny. Why would Bungie do this? They don't want us to warn the new members. In order for them to abuse the newcomers as we were abused, they have to be as ignorant and naive as possible. By the time they get here, and by "here" i mean the great new version of Bungie that will replace this "beta," all the Legacy members will be gone. There will be no one here to tell the newbies what they're in for.
Think you're tough enough to handle it? Think you can hang around through the torment long enough to be the hero the new members need? Well, have fun using the crap site, only to come out on the other side as a grizzled, grumpy asshat who hates everything and everyone on the site almost as much as he hates him self. In more simple terms, being a Mythic. There wont be enough of you left to save the newbies.
And the Ninjas? They'll all be gone too. Notice the crappy looking new "Ninja" blocks sitting next to their names? Looks like crap right? Yeah, all part of the plan. Making the Ninjas hate their own profiles so much that they'll eventually be driven to permabanning themselves. I give it a week before bobcast snaps.
Well, it's been fun guys. I'll probably never see you again.

Oh my god... Bungie is trying to turn us into Mythics...

This is the best thread since the update occurred. While I do not like the setup of bungie.next, I will say it does have some merits. The ability for groups to have "public" threads was genius. I also think that hash tags could be useful, just not as the main way to find threads. I think the old forum setup was better, but I also think it would be cool to have hash tags as a sort of cross forum search. So we would still have the Community, Universe and Flood forums, but if we wanted to search for very specific topics (dragons for example), the we would type the topic into the hash tag search and threads from all forums would appear in chronological order. So the hash tags would be a type of secondary search.

An interesting theory, the only evidence to support your 'they hate us' theory is that my blue bar is now gone.

#mythics
They've pretty much always hated their fans.
Lol what?

I sense some venomous sarcasm, I believe.

It's like the cycle in Mass effect. We're going to become Reapers, the noobs will experience the same cycle.
-
We can stop the cycle! It's different this time!
-
But I already hate everyone here. Except for a few people. They know who they are.
-
They have no just reason to kick me out, so I'll hang around and teach the younglings in the ways of the force.
-
So.......I can't have bacon with my waffles???
-
I should point out that i'm not joking or being sarcastic at all #sarcasm
-
Not sure if sarcasm or srs.
-
Is this some kind of joke?
-
I was already a Mythic.
-
agreed bro, they -blam!-ed up bad.
-
I'm leaving Bnet to until they bring back the old layout #Swag #Yolo

I like the social networking dimension. Bungie.net would have been fine without it, but I love the notification ability and the rest is also fine.
