Destiny 1 and Xbox Live

Hello does anyone know if you need Xbox gamepass core to play Destiny 1 w/ online multiplayer? Wanted to get into D1 but not sure if I have to pay for the expansions and gamepass to play. Ty

You will need a gamepass sub active to access pretty much anything besides tower and story missions on D1.
