How is adding more requirements interesting? Empowered finish is also colorless and the super cost is negligible seeing as it's 4 red bars worth or just damaging a target with the super changes.
This change also gets in the way of finder mods or mods like hands on. The change creates more issues than solutions seeing as becoming charge with light isn't a hassle right now with multiple choices to choose from.

Empowered finish costs super energy. Also, opportunity cost. The game wants you to match elements. If the game is trying to encourage something, then why should ignoring it be more efficient? It shouldn’t. This is a small way of fixing this error.

People are build crafting. In a game with builds you have options to use different mods. You can use wells and create builds around them. You can create orbs and make builds around them. It's not ignoring if I'm just choosing a playstyle, and wells aren't exactly necessary to get through content. You shouldn't punish players for giving them the choice of A or B then get upset when they go with A for one reason or another. And if were talking efficiency, how is adding more steps to achieve the same goal effienct? How is making it harder to take advantage of things like absolution more efficient? How is going from needing one mod to two mods more efficient? And what do you mean match element? I dont need to match my wells if I want to become charged with light.

A) It’s now more efficient because it’s more comparable to the cost of the second best option, I.e. orbs B) If A is better than B in every way with no drawbacks, it’s the illusion of choice and needs to be fixed C) Orbs on guns are an archaic system from a worse age that needed to be changed for a while D) I’m not saying you should need to use wells. Warmind cells can also get you charged with light, as can multikills with certain guns, again slightly more interesting perks that this change makes more useful. I think mods such as sustained fire will become much more popular next season. E) I’m done arguing this. I’ve conceded to see your point and still I disagree. This fixes so many issues I’ve been complaining about for a while. Fanboys ruined this game when they demanded that nothing be nerfed in base game. Bungie spent years nerfing the game to the best state it’s been in a long time. I’m sick of “the boy who cried nerf”. There’s a reason why Season of Opulence was broken. There’s a reason why I quit the game for a year and a half. And there’s a reason why I came back. But for some reason many a change that has made me fall in love with the game again is called pointless and poor by the fan base. The game is on an upwards trajectory. I have an appreciation for this game’s systems. I called out the need for stasis armor mods when these very forums called the idea stupid and downvoted me to oblivion. I could not be more infatuated by this game’s systems and evolution right now and the same fanboys I blamed for ruining my favorite game several years ago now hates the changes that brought me back. I feel the need to defend my underrepresented position. I genuinely believe it the best, most sustainable path for the game. Anyway, I have very strong views on the design of this game that you, and many, probably would not appreciate. But these heated discussions are proof that we both love this game so dearly. So, I hope that dispute our continued disagreement I have made my side clear. Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful night. Hopefully the other changes Bungie has planned out will make the new system more comfortable for you.

You're just as much a fanboy as they are, they're playing the same game you are playing, you're just defending a different path. I will never understand the need that some people have to belittle others just to reinforce their own point of view.

Have a wonderful night as well.

Thank you! And sorry for the wall of text. I didn’t mean to get so heated. I genuinely thank you for the conversation. Even if I don’t always agree, this has always been one of the most welcoming communities I’ve ever had the pleasure of being part of.

No worries, got a lot to say in a discussion and got the text space to express it. And we may disagree but I appreciate doing so in a respectful manner. 👍
