The toxicity of lfg VoG teams
It’s bad enough the changes they made with the oracles but the toxicity and elitism of people in these lfg groups is unbelievable. My clan was short 2 guys so we ended up using lfg and found some people to fill the spots. These 2 guys said they had an Atheon checkpoint and ask if we could start there and they’d help us with the beginning parts after so we agreed.
Now this was our very first time in the raid learning everything and these guys had already played and made it to Atheon. So we start and their we a few mistakes but after a while we were getting the hang of stuff. All of a sudden these guys say um I don’t think we will get this done the damage isn’t enough. Now these guys were putting out similar to less damage than everyone else and were making mistakes as well. They just continued to be negative and no longer wanted to help anymore. It’s just ridiculous how people just don’t have the patience anymore to figure out where the mistakes lie, correct it and keep pushing. They rather be negative, create tension and anxiety. People want to beat the raid just as badly as these elitist pricks. Thus why raid should’ve stayed the same as it was in D1 and challenge mode should’ve had the changes.

1 ReplyYes, exactly ........... Try and use the Fireteam finder and EVERY endgame activity, raid OR dungeon has KWTD! Even if it doesn't say know what to do......... You will be booted out of the game if you make too many mistakes? What happened to Guided Games? I was excited for that, you ended up sitting there for nearly an hour looking for a clan to take you under there wing and help you through a raid ............ BUT I am guessing, there KWTD attitude spoilt the whole idea of guided games. How are you supposed to know what to do in any end game activity IF nobody offers help or advise in these game modes?

Tbh I barely had negativ experiences with lfg. Even beat atheon with a lfg team yesterday. While I mostly agree with your post I also fear them driving away players from lfg. The population is already quite small.

I’ve NEVER had a good experience on LFG so I don’t bother anymore. I’d love to learn the encounters and have a shot at some good loot, but it’s not worth getting aggravated or stressed out. I play games to enjoy myself. I’m still trying to find a clan with people in their 30’s in my time-zone, a family, etc. to run raids with and have people willing to teach without the toxicity. Don’t get me wrong, the clan I’m part of now is great, but they’re all like 18-24 and probably don’t want to teach an older guy (if you consider 36 old, that is) the ropes. If I were to find the right fit as far as a clan goes, I’d probably give it another shot. But if my choice is no raid loot or enter the bowels of LFG, it’s a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned.

Honestly that just sounds like you got two people who really weren't right for the group, especially as they had a checkpoint. Sounds like you were after two different things entirely.

It's only been 1-2 days after contest. There's alot of new players and very few players who know what to do. If you think they're toxic because they won't let newbies in, makes you sound rather entitled. As you would expect, majority of players do not have the patience and experience to carry a new player into the raid, because they are new themselves. So it makes sense to ask for a player with experience to save time and get things done faster. Players like me lfg plenty of new players once we have the experience. But at the current moment, we only lfg players close to us or people who kwtd.

I was SHOCKED when a dude came in to our group and was like “yeah so we always do x.” You ALWAYS do it this way you insist works but doesn’t and then lash out at the group for suggesting alternatives? It’s been one day but you ALWAYS do it a way? Please...🙄 Not to mention people who talk huge game about how good they are or belittle the ability of others while themselves are incompetent and are the reason for most wipes.

Edited by Cheesy_Quesadila: 5/24/2021 3:55:02 PMIf new don't join the kwtd groups obviously join the willing to teach groups there are nice people in lfg willing to, iv met some of the coolest nicest funniest people in lfg, don't let the complaining here turn you away and miss out on super awesome experience, not everyone has a static party and lfg is a nice tool.

D1 raided my ass off with same players. Everybody could join if not full team, New or veterans did not matter. Players sending invites for help on raids, while just doing my thing at tower. D2 did few lairs and raids, but the players from before do not play Anymore. Lfg always toxic, but now toxic to the max. D2 raiding so much potential, too much work and toxic

D1 year 1 I used LFG/LFM every week and [i]very[/i] rarely had any issues. Now I don't even consider it an option. As things got more communication-heavy and convoluted in the endgame, a certain part of the community grew more toxic. "Be excellent to each other.. but also do everything perfectly and things will be fine."

8 RepliesI made a post about the toxicity of LFGs weeks ago and the need for matchmaking and here we are. I am not surprised. This game isnt played as a hobby or a fun experience because of the toxicity to complete the game in one session rather than creating memories and fun moments.
