So we've all had poor backfill experiences due to a number of reason. You're often thrown into a losing match (hence why the person left) and are already at a disadvantage.
To help give a fighting chance, I suggest the backfiller is given super energy proportional to how much of the match has been missed. This can be calculated off of time elapsed or current score or an algorithm combining both.
It sucks to load in with no super energy while the opposition all has there or are close.
Now this suggestion won't fix everything but I think it'd be a nice QoL change for all of us.

This is one of those things that could work very well or very poorly. Depending on the score and time elapsed, they could easily change the outcome of the match, especially if the team missing members is missing more than one. In times when a team is missing members, it would probably be better to give that team either more health/shields or damage depending on the number of open slots. No matter what you come up with, it's more than likely not going to work. Personally, I'd think it'd be bs if because halfway through the game (time/score) some Warlock who uses top tree Dawnblade too much joins and slaughters the team with his super and half the time still have enough energy to kill the team again. It's about as likely to work as spawn invincibility (as much as this game feels like it needs it half the time) or the buff above.
