(SOLVED) [PC] Text chat in game with Steam puts me back to Steam client on every message sent
Hi all,
Today, while playing, a friend wrote me a message from within the Steam client (he was not playing). Not for the first time to say. And usually I 'am giving my answer from inside the game. So far so good.
But today, I was taken back out of the game into the Steam client every time I pressed Return, sending my message. (The game is still running in the background.)
I can't remember, I changed any setting in this regard. And it never happend before.
But I changed the resolution of the video output from 1440p to 1080p, due to the huge drop in FPS since patch 2.5.x.x (Season of Opulence)
So, how do I get the regular setting back, which will prevent me from being switched back to the Steam client? (Either Steam or Destiny 2.)
Or is it a bug?
I was not able to find any similar issue using the big G.
Any help is very appreciated.

Edit (2019-10-14):
Checked my settings in Steam, which are:
* Notifications:
- Flash window when I receive a message: Never
- All other: Play a sound
* Chat:
- Open a new window for new chats: ON
--> Result: Problem still exists :(
Changing D2 setting from fullscreen to windowed fullscreen:
--> Steam chat window pops in front of D2 and obscures part of the screen. :(
Conclusion: Last Steam client update causes this issue. At least for some like myself.
So I will try to reach out to Steam support for further assistance.

Problem solved:
Issue was caused by disabling the overlay function of Steam.
If the overlay function is enabled, then Destiny 2 will keep at top and no distraction from Steam client will happen. :D

2 Repliessorry you are having these issues lets try to fix it. try these following step and maybe this will fix your issue. -Open steam; -Click on friends & chat on the bottom right; -Click on the settings icon on the top of the new window; -Click on notifications and disable the following setting: [i]Flash window when i recieve a chat message;[/i] and the final step go to chat options and disable the setting: [u]open a new window for new chats (rather than a tab)[/u] If this didnt solve your issue try to go to destiny 2 and put your window mode in [i]Windowed fullscreen.[/i] i must let you know that this is a steam issue and not a destiny issue seen that its steam pulling you out of the game. lets just hope this will help and please let me know.
