$12 EMOTE???? $8 for ONE weapon skin. Eververse items are to expensive!

Im loving all the changes they have made to the game...Except the prices in the eververse they are just to high. $12 bucks for ONE emote and weapon skins at $8 for ONE weapon skin is ridiculous. Just lower them a few dollars so it feels like a good deal and not a rip-off.

  • definitely agree, if they want to make money on it they should lower it. after all people will buy more if it's not that expensive, not to mention this is for a single cosmetic, I hope they take a look at it and haven't been infected by activision in the time they had to work with them

  • You don't have to buy anything. Its all cosmetics. Just saying. People set the market so if people are buying they keep the price up. People stop buying, than prices drop. Pretty simple and totally not necessary

Remember when Bungie said that they were severing ties with Activision because they didn't like the greedy direction that Activision was forcing the game in? And now what do we have with Shadowkeep, the first expansion not under Activision? 1. Removal of engrams for levels until reaching seasonal level 100, costing a total of 10 million XP, with only 19 engrams being available before level 100, 95% of which contain worthless shaders (which are for some reason still consumables instead of unlimited use unlockables like in D1) 2. Literally not a single new seasonal cosmetic that can be earned for free. The "new" engrams earned from leveling just drop old Y2 gear that we all already have and all of the new stuff is locked either behind the paid tree of the season pass or purchase for silver in eververse. 3. Free cosmetics that could be earned in previous seasons (quests to unlock the seasonal ornaments for vanguard/crucible armor, etc.) have been removed this season. 4. While it's only been a little more than two weeks so time is yet to tell, there doesn't seem to be any free cosmetics that you can earn through hidden quests ala the sagira shell, 1k wings, harbinger's echo, luxurious toast etc. 5. The amount of things purchasable for bright dust has been severely limited. 6. Removed eververse bounties and removed the ability to break down unwanted items from engrams into bright dust instead making them break down into legendary shards, something that 99% of players are already drowning in because they're so easy to passively acquire, leaving the only way to get bright dust being that which you get from weekly bounties. Seriously, I hate to say it and I can't believe I am, but when it comes to availability of cosmetics without having to pay real world cash, it was actually better under Activision. Bungie wasn't upset with the direction the game's MTX were going, they were just jealous they weren't getting all the money and didn't want to have to split it with Activision.

          • I, and many others, would be far more willing to buy from the mtx shop if not for the price gouging. I could go for a $1-2 emote or weapon skin, a bone to throw the devs from time to time. I'm not willing to pay $5-10 for emotes, weapon skins, etc. especially when it feels like those items were removed from the game for the sake of selling them separate. For instance, the Vex Offensive themed sparrow available in the shop. Sure, you can buy it with silver dust, but that's not the point. A Vex Offensive themed sparrow should be a reward from the Vex Offensive, not an item in the mtx shop. Putting it in the shop just creates the impression that it was designed as a possible reward for Vex Offensive, and then removed so it could be sold later because "MONEY!". I'm willing to spend a few bucks every now and then if I feel as though the items are worth it and the devs deserve it... but I'm not Bungie's target market. Bungie would rather have a few people (whales) spend thousands of dollars than thousands spend a few dollars.

          • Im looking at it right now. The most expensive thing costs 2100 silver then 1500 after that. Both are bundles. Then drops to 800 for individual stuff. Be a smart person and dont buy it and wait until its on brightdust rotation. Its an emote calm down

          • Actually what's worse is the $10 secondary character boost to light 900. Seriously wtf Bungie? Anyone who buys this needs to quit right now. You don't need a Fkn boost item to get to 900, let's break it down, get 1 character to 930+ then switch character, transfer over top light weapons, go into season pass, collect the armour rewards you've unlock in pass... Yes you actually get the same rewards to collect on your other characters and will reach 900+ easily...no added expense.

            • Then... don't buy it? They're cosmetic. Tess sells new stuff every week, so there's a chance you can get what you're wanting for free. This is such a non-problem.

              • Anyone who understands the concept of whales gets why the system is as it is. It's about making money. I would propose a solution that the season pass comes with like 1 node that is a "pick one eververse item to have for free" or "you completed season level 100, here is 1200 silver". It would make the community a little happier (though let's face it, there's no pleasing a lot of these people) by giving an eververse item that a vast majority of players weren't going to spend $12 on anyway, and only deprive the company of a very small fraction of the whale take. Disclaimer: I can't see the data, so my assertion that a vast majority don't buy skins may be misguided.

                • I agree that they may be overpriced but all these items can be earned for free once they rotate around for bright dust. It's extremely unnecessary to buy them with silver.

                  • So I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, so I thought I’d bring it to everyone’s attention. I just booted up destiny for the day, and at the character select screen there was a strange symbol next to my hunter. He is still around the 750 mark because I haven’t had time to Lv him up yet. So I go to hover over the symbol and to my surprise it’s a power booster, to permanently boost your power to 900. I decided to continue down the rabbit hole to see how much it cost, and my god 2000 silver 😂 I thought we weren’t going to cross this line huh Bungie, scratching the line of pay to win. Now before someone comments it’s more like pay to progress, yes you would be correct as well. But how convenient that this pops up the very day IB returns, a game mode where power matters. Can’t say I’m surprised Bungie has been creeping towards milking the players more and more. You give this company an inch and they take a mile. How Dare You!

                    • I agree it's outrageous, even compared to other games who do it better, like Titanfall 2. I have some extra cash sometimes I would love to spend on a game I enjoy, but I can't. I want to go to the shop, browse ships or ornaments or whatever, pick the one I like and pay that price to get it. This RNG nonsense is ridiculous to put against loyal gamers who already have to deal with the same rehashed content we're paying for just so we can progress our characters and the game. By the way, this game isn't free. D2 classic is essentially a trial at this point. If you want to actually do anything, or play with other people, you have to buy the expansions. The argument about cosmetic items being worthless is also nonsense. In any game you want to look good and have nice things, especially when you play a lot and earn them. If virtual items aren't important, you have no problem if the prices come way down, or are sold as individual items. I feel like this is something they were shackled into by a greedy, no-care for consumers company, but when they freed themselves it didn't change. Spend the price of the base game on the last two add-ons and you now have access to those items! If you get lucky from the shop. What do they give us? Same areas we've gotten sick of in D1, same weapons from D1, the SP mission is also the new strike because screw you, you'll buy it! Same enemies all the time, which was my gripe with D2 (honestly don't know what I expected, but more enemies was top of the list. I couldn't wait to see the terrible new threat to the universe and finally, FINALLY fight a different type of enemy. Nope! It's Cabal. Screw you!) Okay that last paragraph was off-topic but cosmetic items always irritate me when people try and say they're worthless. They're not. Especially in a game like LoL that's free to play, you should support the company, especially if you play it non-stop. People who outright refuse to buy them should stop playing then (not talking about D2, which is a paid game, but the freebies). The argument remains however that you like a weapon and you want it to look nice, so you should be able to buy the cosmetic to change. You shouldn't have to lootbox this stuff and when you do pay it shouldn't be too high for what you're getting. Even the ships! It's not like YOU can fly the ship! It's just a loading screen! Don't treat your customers, who are still willing to play with everything you've done to the game, like it's a contest to see how much you can milk from them as if it's a joke.

Gaming today has gotten stupid. It uses to be about trying at least to create quality content, now it's about mico and today's generation has set the path for things to get worse with gaming companies. I mean why bother creating a decent game when we can reskin everything and just create new things to sell in our store. When does this crap stop, when 1 item costs $70 the price of a game? Then just recycle everything to save cost so any company doesn't have to at least try to put that effort they put in their store in the game that use to be a looter shooter? Edit: Pay no attention to anyone that insults you thinking they are better than. Any company that has respect for their player base would offer better deals and they would also make it so you can acquire all items by simply running activities. They wouldn't shut Eververse down for gamers just playing the game to acquire items so they can cash grab as much cash as they could. This Hogwash "Bungie needs to make money" that people are trying to use as poor Bungie seem to forget all the things they sold between D1 and D2 to make money.
Hmm, if I recall Eververse being in D1 that was never removed Bungie's story that has been going since D1 that is on backorders Refer a friend Boost packs Rock star, etc... Bundles that were close to $500.00 that sold Expansions The Annual Pass, Battle pass and yet to come There $100 million contract with that new IP and I know I missed more things they sold to make money So don't give me this Hogwash Bungie "didn't make any money" and try to act like they were hurting.
Edit: 1. Just had to add, I can't wait for the fake apology Bungie will give on however that will be and the ones that think Bungie can do no wrong will be like, "see, Bungie is listening" 🤦‍♂️

                        • Stuff being silver exclusive, past items not being in the engram pool, engrams now being even rarer than before, AND bright dust only being awarded randomly from the engrams should never have been a thing to begin with. Especially now with them running out of ideas and recycling the old stuff, but only CERTAIN old stuff.
