This really quite simple. Remove cores from infusion, keep them for masterwork. Adding more ways to get cores is not going to help at all. It just means more grinding the same stuff we are already tired of grinding. Stop trying to artificially inflate player hours to make the game look “healthy”. I’m already down to just logging in for 30 minutes a week for “invitation of the nine” story line. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t even bother. The game has become a chore now, not a game. I know some ppl don’t agree but a majority does. You have 600k+ playing daily, sounds good until you compare that to the 13 million units sold. Forgive my math I have a cocktail in hand, but that’s, what, 4% of the people that bought it still play?

I saved this for everyone that keeps bringing up the player retention ratio. These are the top 5 steam games, they must all be in trouble according to your statement. DOTA 2 100 million players all time, 1.2 million played yesterday. PUBG 400 million players all time, 3.2 million was there peak daily count, yesterday was less than a million. CSGO 20 million all time, 850000 yesterday. Rainbow Six 35 million, 137 thousand yesterday. Warframe 20 million all time, 82000 yesterday. I read another article that said most top selling games lose 90 percent of there players in 14 days. D1 retained a million players a day on average.....there were over 30 million tracked. D2 gas a better retention percentage than that.
-
Lets not forget that the Destiny tracker numbers are across all platforms and are for D1 and D2................
-
No they're not. There were over 30 million players tracked in D1. Some Destiny hating troll came up with Tracker network combining games. The site literally says D2 tracked players.
-
So... At the least, it’s still all 3 platforms yet you compare “steam” which is one platform?
-
It's the only place to get concrete numbers and lots of pc gamers use steam. Those numbers are pretty sizable and DOTA 2 is a pc only game that happens to be one of the most popular games in the world. So is CSGO. Most games don't release numbers at all. You also completely ignore the fact that I compared D1 numbers from the same source and it had worse retention.

Hey, Im not against you defending something you care about. We all have our vises. But I do suggest you evaluate the overall situation. They are killing the game by not producing what the majority are asking for. 🤷🏻♂️no matta me but I do wish they’d make the game what it could be.
-
I'm not defending cores in infusion. I'm presenting stats that show nearly the same player retention in many games out there.
-
A bunch of old games...
-
They are currently the top 5 games on Steam. Doesn't matter how old they are. Destiny 2 is also "old" and the majority of those tracked players stopped playing before the Forsaken update. D2 still has better player retention than D1. I bet if Apex and Fornite released daily players vs all time players that the retention percentage would be similar to all these games. I wonder what Anthem's retention percentage is, it's pretty new.
-
I don’t think I would even worry about apex or fortnight, very niche games. I feel they are just fads that come and go. Not my cup of tea. I would love to see anthems numbers as well, they must be bad. I don’t like judging a game by its stream ratings because for everyone watching that’s one less playing. I just don’t get the stream thing, why watch someone else play a video game? Just weird to me
-
Steam not stream. Steam is a pc provider that sells and rents access to games. Those number are players that have and currently use those games just like tracker network.
-
My bad I know what steam is, just used to streamer hate here
-
Lol I get that.
-
Grinding for cores doing the same old stuff. That’s just it. It is the same same old stuff. So if you don’t want to play the same old stuff there are no reasons for you to worry about cores. Honestly they drop more frequently now plus if you are in a clan at level 4 or whatever you get 7 per character for doing your clan milestone. It is not the cores it is the staleness of the game. If there was something to make people want to play they would do what the have to do to get. Unfortunately there isn’t.

PS bungie hire me, I can make destiny great again, and I want to make it great. I want destiny to be the equivalent of The juggernaut WoW used to be
