This Week at Bungie – 4/4/2019
This week at Bungie, we’re getting ready for some high voltage.
A storm is brewing. Next week, we’ll kick off what we’ve been calling Arc Week. Our goal for this happening has been to take the element that makes our sandbox crackle and put it under the microscope. The most noticeable update is that we improved many Arc subclass paths from the time before Forsaken. The week will also feature Arc Singe and Arc Bounties to synergize with your updated abilities. To provide a proving grounds for all this new energy, Mayhem will be available in the Crucible to let you experiment with your enhanced Arc abilities using shockingly short cooldowns.
Arc Week will also feature one of the most powerful Arc weapons ever created, the Thunderlord Exotic Machine Gun. If you weren’t able to complete the quest to obtain Thunderlord last year, you will have from April 9 to April 23 to revisit the Cosmodrome and add it your collection.

4 RepliesOverall, I am pleased with the content of this TWAB. All of it sounds like it will be fun... and what is a video game without fun? Question for some of you... Is it not possible for you to look at this and enjoy the fact that Bungie is trying to do something that should be a fun week? Sounds like they are trying to give us a week where we can relax from "grinding" and just have fun with some cool stuff.

Edited by Madness Tus: 4/5/2019 7:07:42 PM@Cozmo you guys did a great job with the stormcaller buff but i was actually confused to why the sandbox team made arc web and chain lighting recharge only grenade energy and not both grenade and melee since "transcendance" is a perk that relies on both abilities charged in order to synergize better and also all of the Warlock's forsaken class actually have ways to recharge all of their abilities even attunement of element recharges melee and grenades energy upon inflicting melee damage, so basically what i'm getting at is why didn't they follow the trend ?

Now you are buffing it again? I feel like a Yo-Yo. Not that I mind any of these buffs. I celebrate all good buffs like this. Heck, the Warlock buffs are so good, I may even start using my Warlock again.

1 ReplySome of the coolest armor over the past few season has been in eververse and we have no way of getting good rolls on the armor other. Than paying our hard earned money for a very very low chance you might get a piece of armor and hope it has good rolls .. or hope rng is on your side when you get enough xp .. it's a very flawed system considering overall eververse over multiple seasons has more items than actual weapons and armor in the game .. eververse is the only vendor that gets a refresh every season .. So you can at least let us have plenty of chance of getting the perks on the armor we want but eliminating the possibility of the cosmetics to drop once we have gotten them .. I don't know about the rest of the community but I'm throwing money at eververse for a chance I might get the armor and almost a guarantee I'll get an exotic item that I've gotten ten times already this season (SKULLKING FOX, SUNSHOT SHELL) I can go to collections and get them out for the perks I want .. there's no reason for us to ever get them again once we have them .. I get y'all need eververse to keep money flowing since the split with Activision but making this change where armor only drops at least gives me some incentive to long and grind xp gains

This may be too late but another great way to celebrate ARC week would be to either significantly bump up the drop rate of the An[u]arc[/u]hy in the SotP raid or allow players to try to farm it by allowing it to drop from the final chest for the same character for multiple runs during this week. While the first option is probably simpler the second option could be more fun. This weapon has [b][u]ARC[/u][/b] in the middle of it’s name, as well as ARC damage. It’s certainly a heavy weapon that won’t break PvP so you should be happy to have it in the player space.

10 RepliesI for one like this TWAB update. The arc class improvements sound great! And I'm glad my gf can now get Thunderlord. Awesome. Would have sucked to miss out only because she didn't play back then. I had a super popular post about cores, and I'm not bothering to stress it further or to beat the dead horse. We made our thoughts known there, loud and clear. For now, moving along, I like this update and I'll enjoy the positive stuff without dwelling too much on the negative. I recently began Lunas quest too, so I need to be as positive as possible to deal with the stress of comp, lol. Best wishes, Guardians.

Wow, why am I not surprised...everybody is complaining about the stuff Bungie didn’t fix, and complaining about Thunderlord being back, that they didn’t even see the fix to something they’ve been complaining about since it got nerfed, Nova Warp. I like the changes to Arc subclasses and the fact that the Thunderlord quest is back, because my friend wasn’t playin at the time, and he missed out on not only Thunderlord but actually going back to the cosmodrome, which is really nostalgic and amazing. So long story short, Bungie good job!👍

27 RepliesShocking that no matter what you do with an update.....an update with all buffs to older subclass paths that needed it.....people still cry and scream with the same broken record complaints because they didnt hear exactly what they wanted to. This community is so sad 😂😂😂😂

There will be haters no matter what this update was needed and they added Catalyst for us to chase, hopefully made Nova Warp better (can't get any worse). I'm looking forward to Arc Week update.

But i dont want to be too negative. There are some nice changes coming. Now pls nerf Luna/NF and get rid of Cores for Infusion and i would be happy.

Looking forward to running my Arc Warlock with Getaway Artist. Like the Gambit Prime invasion changes. I will add that the matchmaking changes seem to be working well. Many close and intense matches whether going in with clan mates or going solo randoms. Fun stuff.

I love all the changes on paper. Specialy for pve side. I am worried about actual gunplay becoming a secondary thing to abilities and supers. The super spam is real as of today. After this update i think it might get out of hand. Either way this change should be good.

4 RepliesIf i may bungie, with all due respect, you guys have positive intentions, you care about your game, and your doing good things to fix its pronlems. Here's the issue, Regaurdless of the "enhancement core epidemic" or cruicible issues, simalar things have happened countless times in destiny's history. Remember the sidarm meta? Teir zero mida? You've obviously learned from that. But now its time to learn from your current mistakes. Rework the enhancement cores, tune up cruicible, balence your subclasses, and as a personal request, do not for any reason make the first year 3 dlc smaller in content than the other year kickoff dlc's. Not to sound harsh, but If anyone repeatedly in bungie makes these mistakes, they aren't fit for their jobs. This is not meant offensively, its just the sad brutal truth, so i apologize for the negitivity. I understand that last bit most likely will not happen, and you got a big to do list of your own without a publisher. I believe in you bungie, as i always have since halo. Pring us to the promise land in destiny.
