There's a few reasons for people to do this, none of them good. Some are selling a service and doing paid carries or recoveries for hard cash. They will do whatever it takes to get the money.
The other is just sad sack losers who must win at any cost. Part of their self esteem is no doubt tied to their abilities on the game. Competition can bring out the worst in some people.
I've seen plenty of cheating in the R/C car racing world. Some people will do anything to get that 10$ overgrown bowling trophy. It's an expensive hobby. Some guys will put a $1000 into their cars/equipment. They then feel entitled to win.

There should be accountability on behalf of the game Dev. to provide the majority of the player base with a fair game for everyone to play. Cheating should be taken very very seriously as it doesn’t belong in gaming period. Sadly, posts like this happen when the Dev. doesn’t appear to be really doing anything to stop it.

Just guessing, but it's probably not very easy. There are millions of players in Destiny. Bungie is probably afraid of getting it wrong and banning the wrong people. I could be wrong, and maybe they just don't care. Who knows. All I know is that I would be pissed if this happened to me. I would report this to my ISP immediately. It's a crime.

The ones I've seen do this crap DAILY! I could see one or times and you could just blame your connection, but DAILY. Some of my clan mates ran into a team that did this to them twice! Checked their recent game plays and they had been doing it all night. Checked back a few days later and sure enough 24 straight games where the enemy team had 2 players removed and zero scores. One guy actually accepted our party invite and point blank told us he was getting payed $500 to get some else a Lunas Howl. I dont know what's worse, the scrub paying or the scrub who cant get the gun legit.

Yeah. It’s sad that this happens. Even sadder those that are doing it.
