Please patch cluster bomb on riven
Short post but I'm sick and tired of people only wanting to do this "strat" only to realize they cannot do it & thus will not put forth the effort to learn how to do it the legit way.
Literally wasted 4 hours of my damn time because people only know the "cluster strat" instead of the normal strat i.e pull your weight.
Edit: A lot of people are suggesting I should have made a post so I can do it the legit way.
Good idea but the problem is that I did do that and time after time people who supposedly knew what they were doing, did not and required me teaching sometimes 3 people at a time.

Please remove your post is horrible. You obviously haven't spent enough time on raid bosses to know any better!! you haven't spent enough time playing raids and having it glitch out and spending countless countless hours doing them so your opinion is invalid!!

If you want to take the time to do it right than you can take the time to get a party together that can do it. Please keep your opinion to yourself. Don't cry about not finding a group that can't do it because it takes time to do it the right way so therefore it takes time to get a group together that can do it. It's all part of the process that's the way you want it. Did you play D1? How many countless hours did you spend on oryx or any of the raid bosses? All to get nothing that you wanted. I love the cluster bombs on Riven I think it's awesome it's the only way to do it. I'm not going to spend 4 hours wasting my time to get it done and not get what I want. if you're such a righteous player and want to do things exactly like they want then don't screw it up for the community and post your opinion on here try harder to get a group together and teach them how to do it. That's your prerogative not the communities. If you want to do it the right way then do it the right way you're going to have to teach players how to do it then. Don't try to punish the players that have spent the time on everything else to get high enough light to use cluster bombs.

They should keep the damage from cluster bombs, rat king...etc but just make it so you have to advance in groups of 3 to where all 6 are supposed to meet. I'm tired of whisper, sleeper and ikelos being the only real options for DPS encounters. I like being able to use cluster bombs and primaries as viable DPS tools. Back in D1 different encounters had a variety of optimal DPS tools: Icebreaker,SGA, Ghorn,sleeper, hammer, tom, outbreak prime and swords all had their place in the varying boss encounters.

1 ReplyHere is my problem with the OP. In the body, you cite having “wasted 4 hours” on Riven with people who “supposedly knew what they were doing” only to find they’ve only ever done rocket strat. You then continue with the “problem” of having to teach “up to three people at a time”. Therein is my problem with some in the Destiny community. Here is the deal: like it or not, nothing used in the rocket strat is an abuse of tools offered by the devs. Granted, you could make an argument that using the “joining allies” room should be patched - but even so, all that does is eliminate the 50/50 chance that Riven shows up in the “wrong room.” Even if it were patched, the strat would still work, if maybe a little less predictably. The bigger issue I have is the myriad of “#knowwhatyourdoing” and “#experiencedplayersonly” posts. Wanna know how to get a bigger pool of competent players? Learn the patience to teach people. You can’t complain about people not knowing a proper mechanic and about having to teach players in the same breath, it totally discredits you. Yes, it sucks having to teach a new player every single time. But may as well do that now while the raid is relatively fresh. This elitist attitude is not new, and is not unique to Destiny. But really, are you part of the solution or part of the problem? Statistically, the majority of players will not even attempt a raid. I’d like to see that changed. And before you point fingers, yes I’ve done both strats. I had to be taught at some point, most of us did. Quit hoarding your knowledge and looking for the easy win. Otherwise, all your “#dontsuck” posts aren’t any better than the rocket strat. Just my .02

It is a glitch. The rockets aren’t doing the dps they are suppose to. They are outputting way more than the buffs give them and the numbers on screen don’t match the total dps on wipe screens. Probably due to damaging multiple hitboxes at the same time. It needs to be fixed. I run into the same problem as op. Lfg is watered down with people who won’t actually do it legit. Makes it harder for people who want to learn, causing an even bigger problem. I’ve tried the cluster cheese with several groups with a very low success rate. Most of the people trying to cheese it don’t have the skill necessary to even pull off a cheese. Which is probably why they are trying a cheese in the first place. Others are doing it because they have no option to even learn. I offer every group I raid with the time for me to teach them legit. They almost always go for it and enjoy the actual mechanics much more than cheesing it. Usually takes less time too. The emblem is suppose to mean something, that you fought your way to success. It’s not one of those everyone gets a trophy situations. If you can’t beat it right, keep practicing, keep grinding.

If you have the dps to do it then by all means do it. Why do the 20 minute version to prove it took longer ? You clearly wasted 4 hours trying something you don't even understand but want changed ? GTFOH And BTW . It's not just cluster bombs that burn riven down..there is 2 other weapons that work better and hold more ammo. But if someone tells your whiny ass what they are you will also call for a nerd. Using what has been given to you isn't a hack it's just another strategy.

3 RepliesIf Cluster gets patched, which it shouldn't. People will just do the Rat King Strat, it does basically the same thing as Clusters, it melts Riven in one phase. Cluster is a legit strat, if you have an issue with it, then make your own Raid Team and say No Cluster strat. How hard is that?

2 RepliesI've done it both ways and tbh I prefer the cluster strat. Imo the Riven fight is just too long with to much to do I just don't find it fun. Its not difficult just long.rest of the raid I can't speak highly enough of. The Vault is one of my favourite encounters from D1 and D2. Riven though just feels drawn out for the sake of being drawn out. Simply solution to your problem though is just to make your own group with your own specifications. Lots of people prefer doing the full fight I find it difficult to believe you struggle to get a team together for it. If it's changed to the point you have to play through all floors I'll still do it, but while I have the ability to cut all that time out I will.

Outside of the eyes any monkey picking their nose would have an easy time with this raid. Riven is honestly the easiest part when you arent eorrying about the eyes right before dps phase
