Am I the only one who thinks that the Crucible is fairly balanced and fun right now? I don't feel severely disadvantaged with any weapon class and I think that they excel (for the most part) within their respective ranges. I mean Shotguns are a tad annoying for me on certain maps like Vostok where I feel as if I can't space as well but on most other maps they seem manageable; I am open to tips on how to deal with Shotguns on Vostok (or in general) so if you have any please do share! Like I am having a lot of fun on Crucible, more fun than I ever had in D1's Crucible and I feel as if there need be only minor changes. I fear that we may get unnecessary changes/nerfs that'll lead to what happened to D1 where the Crucible became just plain unfun and I really don't want that...
What do you lot think?

2 things need fixing but other than that I think Crucible is the best it’s ever been. 1: Telesto NEEDS to be in the heavy 2: Spawns are broken and need fixing. I shouldn’t be spawned in and instakilled before I can even get out of the spawn in animation (this problem is even worse in Rumble)

Cozmo_BNG
Ok - old
Thanks for the feedback. I'm loving Crucible right now as well. So many things feel viable. We will continue to monitor the conversation around the Crucible. What are some of your favorite weapons for PVP right now? -
I think it’s fun and ok now too. matchmaking (light level, crucible rank, kd, Elo, something) could be better but i think that’s a whole other convo.
-
I like the balance. I hate the matchmaking in my favorite game types. I wish they'd add clash and control to Competitive Playlist. That would solve everyone's problems for the most part. The diehards want SBMM in the matchmaking

Edited by LetterZ: 9/23/2018 1:33:53 AMOne thing I'm surprised I haven't read yet, someone may have mentioned it, but one of my biggest beefs is that it promotes shotguns in a way. They are annoying, but the worst part is how people who use shotguns get ammo after a lot of their kills due to it dropping after you die. If you are sniping you have to leave your position to get ammo, which is good, but ammo falling back into the chamber for those who use shotguns, not so much. They need to find a balance for that, otherwise shotguns are going to be dominant strategy. Bungie, you guys have a lot of work to do before I say this is balanced. I have fun don't get me wrong, but get to work on this, because this would be much more enjoyable if you could balance out the shotguns. I agree with someone else's statement on the maps as well. Bungie could do better. There are a few solid maps, but they could do so much better. Made so many memorable maps in Halo, try to do the same here. You can adjust your play style to accommodate to your advantage, but that can be easier said than done. When I'm warmed up I'm usually fine. I make sure I keep a certain amount of space between me and the opponent as possible but still engaging mid-range. Have had a few moments where I've been surprised by the range of them, but repping an Auto Rifle and a Sniper has worked well for me. Just playing smart can do wonders, but other games I've played it didn't matter due to the other teams aggression with a strat. Unfortunately I haven't figured out a way to counter that yet. I need a close range loadout, but I can't bring myself to use a shotgun lol. Not my style. Just putting in my opinion, not trying to come off whiny lol. I still enjoy it, but frustration gets the best of me sometimes. And since Cozmo asked. Forward Path, No Turning Back, Misfit, and Dreaded Venture are my weapons of choice usually. I use a lot of different weapons though. I'll add this in because I didn't really specify. This isn't bad in terms of balance. I feel like it could be slightly better in a few aspects, but this isn't bad. I just happen to run into the aspects I feel need work a lot.

But then there’s telesto one tricks

People need to learn how to play the Rock paper scissors of crucible

Edited by TotalDramaGamer: 9/23/2018 9:24:49 PMLol at all the comments that hate shotguns and telesto. Meanwhile I'm running Trust and Alone as a God and mercing people just fine. Telesto is overrated. It's easy to use, sure, but it can be punished with shotguns/snipers depending on the range and if you're keeping special awareness it's easy to bait them and waste their ammo (since, nearly every time, they're sliding and charging hoping you're there and they waste the shot). Yeah, the charge rate is what I don't like about it. It's a good 'longer range' fusion, or a good fusion for clearing hallways, but I would take other fusions over it to counter shotguns (Unless you can trap the floor well) Other than that it's great for locking down heavy for a bit, but not much else. Shotguns are also easy to use, sure, but still very limited to what they do. If you rock a hand cannon or smg (or even some sidearms) you can kill them everytime by baiting a rush, or by refusing to move towards them. The longest range deaths I've had from shotguns solely come from Chaperone. Every other shotgun has only 2/3s of the range IF they're one shot or require two shots from a rapid shotty. Oh, and Sleeper in gambit. While it's undeniable it's very good, it's not uncounterable in the slightest. Again, try out Alone as a God in Gambit. It's by far, IMO, the best sniper for it. You have snapshot for killing players, and triple tap for PvE enemies (which, by the way, gives you ammo magically now). It's great for blockers and doesn't need heavy and can kill an invader with ease as long as they don't surprise you. My exotic of choice in Gambit is Riskrunner. It's just so good to clear adds and blockers with arc damage with ease.

It’s a lot more fun than it was but they just need to buff snipers for that more counter play against shotguns. All the games I load into I’m the only sniper and It’s just my play style but the snipers feel so slow compared to shotguns. I have no problem with the primaries I can use those to kill a rushing shotgunner. When it comes down to it not many people are sniping I feel like I’m the only one every game or the minority in the game lol.
-
To be honest, it feels good to play PVP like now. Everything is useful
-
Hell of a lot better than it was a few weeks ago that’s for sure.
-
Your one of a few. Its awesome that we are back to camping with a shotgun.
-
It is a super, and shotgun fest. To me I prefer more gunfights,
-
Bring back heavy machine guns
-
It could use some subtle changes, but over all its ok. Pulse Rifles rain supreme Everyone and their sister is a Sprinting, sliding, shade stepping shotguning hunter Put shoty's back in heavy and it could be more fun.
-
Edited by Smough: 9/23/2018 9:16:45 PMI personally think snipers are in a bad place and pulse rifles are better than every primary, not to mention ace of spades and luna’s howl are the only viable hand cannons.
-
Crucible is suffering from major scripting I’m afraid.
-
Your not the only one but definitely minority
-
My biggest issue is lag. My internet/setup isn't the greatest but sure as f*ck i haven't got together with a few friends and have all of us plug into a potato. No issues with being out-played but when teams are blinking around the map it's literally impossible.
-
Shotguns 1 shot kill needs adjustment, and grenades not doing -blam!-all for damage. Other than that it's perfect.
-
Teleso needs to go back to heavy. And remove sleeper from gambit. Other than that sure.
-
My issue is match making. I cant really play solo if I get steamrolled ever other match. It's rough man, I went up against a ball of Inaugural Addresses.
-
bring a solo matchmaking and iam okay, and why am iam dieng to 2 meeles?
-
What makes PvP "unbalanced" for me is terrible Peer 2 Peer system that only cause problems.
-
Iron not balanced it's bull shit light level advantage agian
-
very balanced indeed!
