How is sub-class tree’s the only problem with this broken game? LOOK at the rubbish that’s available to us as end-game rewards whether it be merely cosmetic or advantageous. Can you honestly say that there is any good loot in this game? I think not.
Gone are the god rolls on weapons that suited your play style.
Gone are the OP strike/raid specific weapons that made your next time round repeating the event more enjoyable.
Gone are the replayable missions and the hidden exotic quests that required a fire team of 3 to complete (Black Spindle).
Gone are hidden ghosts and stat goals that unlocked the lore some of us avid readers were keen to explore.
Gone are the exciting game 6v6 game modes in PvP that incited more mayhem than strategy.
Gone are the kiosks that held onto our collection of exotics and shaders.
Gone are the shaders.
Gone are the challenge books that gave you loads to get on with and rewarded you for actually playing the game.
Gone is the subclass customisation tree allowing you to fully tweak your guardian’s abilities to suit your play-style.
Gone is the jump in/out PvE game modes that gave you waves of enemies to kill as a fireteam for good rewards (PoE).
Gone are the bounties that asked you to do stuff.
Gone are the exotic bounties that came with them.
Gone is the reputation system that was better than this token system.
Gone is the ‘other stuff’ that Xur used to sell.
Gone is the perfect and previously unbroken weapon system of ‘Primary’, ‘Special’ and ‘Heavy’ slots.
Gone are the rocket launchers that held two rounds... I’m tired.

if it isnt broken, dont fix it/

You are exactly right! So much less than D1 ........ even the D2 patrols are boring. I have yet to find someone( in my clan) that actually does the activities... just not worth the effort.

BUUUMMMP THISSSS
-
This pretty much sums it up - so disappointed in what this amazing game has turned into... :(
-
i have to agree, there isnt much if any content worth doing in the game, but at least a update with a Subclass overhaul would be beyond great and would show they are listening and want the game to become more
-
Pretty sure i heard a youtuber say the exact same thing you said.
-
Bro I solod the black spindle xD what you talking about xD my dark drinker whipped that -blam!-ers ass in no time with black hole equipped, tethered, grenades, R2 spam switch to my favorite rocket launcher and used heavy resupply item and boom time to do a dance and help carry others tho it xD told them to stay in the hall and if they want to just shoot a few adds

Preach!!
-
This sounds like a game I would play!
-
Excellent!
-
This is so accurate!! Bungo needs to bring all of these back to make D2 worth it to keep playing

Gone are the machine guns.

Super Good Advice. [RIP]

Ok, so there are a couple things here that I’d like to address, the previous shader system was god awful compared to this one, this one is way better the only issue is that the shaders are somewhat more difficult to obtain. The bounties from D1 became super irrelevant after year 1, exotic bounties stopped after year 1 (minus the thorn one for year 3) but I will admit I miss those. The new token system is way better imo, example, I like playing warlock in pvp but I want the pvp gear for my titan, I go into pvp as a warlock I get the tokens there, switch to my titan, turn in the tokens on the titan, get the titan gear, pretty nice if you ask me. The only thing I’d like them to add here is a visual representation of your rank for your respective faction on each character. Strike specific loot was never really OP besides imago and GoM and even still they weren’t really OP, top tier In there respective areas of play, sure but not really OP per say so not sure what you’re referring to there, and even the raid stuff stopped being OP after year 1. Even still a lot of the strike specific loot didn’t even look nice either but that’s a matter of opinion. Now subclass customization, most people haven’t realized it yet but the customization that people say is missing is still there but instead of it being perks it now is in the armour (recovery, mobility and resilience) to be fair however the customization for the D1 subclasses were also really bad so not sure why that’s getting praised. This last one is more of a personal thing, spindle didn’t require 3 people, yeah 3 people made it easy, but for the hardcore player doing it solo was way more fun.
-
Just wanna say that even though D1's sub-class customisation was very bad,if compared to sub-class customisation in D2 it should be praised as it's so much better than D2's
-
Was it though? We had the grenades, the glides/jumps, the melee overrides, our unique passive or active abilities (shade step) then the stat distribution trees that were either 1 extreme or another or the somewhat balanced one that still favoured your classes primary attribute, d2 has the same thing listed above but instead of having stat distribution as perks it’s armour based now, which I can argue is worse because then especially for hunters means you have to wear meh looking gear if you want max recovery
-
Even without the resilience, recovery, mobility nodes the D1's sub-classes had more customisation.Like on the Sunbreaker,I had about 5 builds like melting point focused,orb-generation focused,ad clearing focused etc etc.I mean I could do all those things with one build but just changing a few affected it differently, like using Standing in sunspot gives more time on your super perk, perk allowing you through more hammers and enemies explodes when killed on the shanks part on Aksis Phase 1 allowed me to create a lot of orbs and kill a lot of shanks.See,I liked these kinds of things maxing your efficiency at doing one thing by selecting nodes on the sub-classes but with D2's sub-classes customisation, there is nothing like that, you either chose one perk bundle or the other you can't chose individual ones to max efficiency for one thing, hence why I say D2's got way less sub-class customisation
-
Hmm, see I never really used sunbreaker for end game stuff, always had to be the defender so I can’t speak for the customization of that, but for the warlock and hunter I always found myself using either max speed or max armour depending on what I needed to do, and even within the subclasses, there was really only ever 1-2 efficient builds for the end game and the multiple builds primarily depended on the exotic piece of armour I had on not the perks within the classes, I’m not arguing with you about sunbreaker since again never really used it in end game but for the others there was always the 1-2 builds kinda like in D2, I’m not saying either system is great, they’re both lacklustre but I find myself paying more attention to stat distribution in D2 as opposed to D1

Edited by pxgq55a: 1/12/2018 9:09:00 PMThere were really plenty of options within the subclasses. I would usually run around as a Defender or a Nightstalker. And I'd change things within those subclasses to suit the activity I was doing. If i was in a team scenario trying to stack supers, like Challenge of Elders, my Nightstalker would have Light of the Pack ticked. But if I was doing something else, I'd usually use Lockdown. I would also switch between Envenomed and Vanish in Smoke depending on activity. Even Predator was fun to use sometimes in PVP because people didn't expect people to use it. On the Defender, there was Armor, Blessing and Weapons of Light. All dependent on which activity you were in. Gift of Light and gift of the Void would help create orbs in team activities. War machine was great for PVP, as was Relentless. There were so many ways to customize based on what you were doing. Now there's just two choices. So lame to go from being able to optimize your gameplay, to getting to choose option A or option B.

You have your opinion I have mine,I paid more attention in D1's system because it simply had more things than D2(it had 3 more stats(Intellect, Discipline, strength and many more sub-class perks(even excluding the Resilience, Recovery, Mobility).I don't have to pay that much attention in D2's after I have selected one perk bundle because it's better than the other one.Only thing I pay a lot of attention to are Armor stats but I did that with D1 too which had Intellect, Discipline,Strength on Armor,on top of that Armor had reload bonuses, movement bonuses,super/grenade/melee regeneration increase if you did a certain thing, increase in how fast your melee was/how far you could throw your grenades, increase ammo reserves of a certain weapon.Plus there was also raid armor bonuses.I had different raid armor build for different encounters like fusion reload bonus on my arms when Sleeper was the best DPS weapon, sniper reload bonus when sniper was the best DPS weapon etc etc.Not to mention,RoI introduced special artifacts which really changed your playstyle like on Aksis P2 I ran Twilight Garrison with Felwinter to have double melting point and Thermite nades(which did a lot of damage) and told all hunter to use Gunslinger with Nighthawk for extra damage, but that was only when I was running cannon otherwise I used Defender. So D1 had +Sub-class customisation + Armor stat customisation+Armor perk customisation+artifact customisation. D2 has +Armor stat customisation +Armor mod customisation and a very small + Sub-class customisation, everything else is minus Hope that convinced,if not then ok you have your opinion and I can't force mine on you This is my last message on this topic. Bye 👋

Truth is we could argue all day about which parts of the game we liked and which parts we glad got changed. But to go as far as this with all the removals and changes is detrimental to us all cos despite the fact we can’t all agree unanimously on all the aspects, we’re all falling into the majority of players that do not like it overall one bit.
-
And yeah that’s the problem, with all the people complaining about the game being bad and such, the people with actual feedback on how to improve the game are just being over shadowed by the idiots who just jump on the hate bandwagon, despite D2’s many many flaws, at its core it’s a pretty fun game
-
Vision of confluence, fatebringer, imago loop, vex mythoclast, gjallahorn. All reasons to play D1 over and over until your chance to get them dropped. You’d go online and there would be an army of people all there wanting to help you get them and vice versa. Now..? People? Noteworthy weapons? Random rolls? Yeah of course black spindle got solo’d. Even raids got solo’d up until Kings Fall. That’s not the point. Loads of people felt the need to do all this stuff together. Not anymore man. Not anymore :(
