I'd love to see the old skill trees come back. Destiny always struck me as an RPG/FPS hybrid - like mixing bits of Diablo, Borderlands, and Halo. You *want* more to customize your build than just pretty colors. The more they steer away from this, the closer it gets to just being any other online FPS.

Hell yes. This is exactly what I was hoping from D2. I liked the idea of the skill trees to make the builds you wanted and expected there to be way more depth in the perks you could take and was incredibly disappointed in what we actually got. This in itself wont fix D2, the endgame is still the issue, but this starts to bring player control back to the game by allowing players to play how they want. This completely stuffs PvP, but PvP needs to be completely seperate from PvE anyways.

The D1 perk tree blew ass though. So many useless perks. The customization was nice, but the uselessness of so many perks killed it.

That’s why the d2 skill trees are the way they are not to mention that barely anyone used any of the other abilities

Weapon perks could've been better for sure, but class-wise? Tons of cool and interesting options. I was a Voidwalker main (and mostly still am), and you could easily work out some cool combinations that just aren't possible now. Life Steal + Hunger + Bloom? Can't be done. Soul Rip + Annihilate + Bloom? Can't be done. The abilities that did carry over to D2 are mostly cut down too, presumably because people complained Voidwalkers were OP, but you really weren't. High damage potential, but absolutely glass cannons, and on a bad day, you'd die allllll the time.
