I believe they changed the game to fix 2 problems. The problem of cheap farming, exploit the game and they will eventually fix it and the fact that fireteams couldn't reap the benefits of destroying the supplies together. It's not lying if they don't mention the farming fix. Most likely they didn't because they didn't want to offend players by insinuating that they did something wrong. The community already treat Bungie like they killed someone's dog and made them eat it. People who aren't mature enough to handle all the information shouldn't get all of it.

People don’t like being lied to, but at the same time don’t want to hear the truth lol. At least the immature ones, for that matter.

I think you're forgetting the loot cave. Bungie had no problem then telling players that they were doing something wrong by not playing the game the way they intended. They even went so far as to put a scannable item in the cave to remind us of our treachery. This is just one example of the many times Bungie let the fans know that they were doing it wrong.

So. Doesn't mean someone in PR didn't say, hey guys it's not cool to blame the community when your programming mistakes let them do it and they decided not to do it anymore.

If that's the case I preferred honest Bungie that just told it like it is.
