Clearly you don't recall the loot cave.
The way people were playing the lost sectors was in all principle the same concept.
Playing the game in a way that wasn't intended to try and get more rewards, even if the gameplay method itself is more boring.
Almost every gameplay affecting change bungie has done has been around the idea that the gameplay should not be a literal grinding loop.

I miss the loot cave. Met some pretty cool people there. Also saw the most amazing thing during a public event. Urzok the Hated came out and started kicking ass. Between him, the warsat and the enemies moving against each other, it was complete mayhem. Then, out of nowhere, came a brave guardian going full blast on his sparrow. With perfect timing and aim, he hit Urzok dead on. Without skipping a beat, he drove that sparrow right off the edge of the map sending Urzok to his end while simultaneously jumping off and back onto the map like a legend. I was awestruck. And all because we were hanging around the ole loot cave.

I don't disagree. Again, It's the spineless need for them to make up some far fetched bullshit as the reason for the change that makes me gag. The pussification of America knows no bounds I suppose...

I know other things that'll make you gag 😏
