Ok Ok. I Actually Like Iron Banner!
Feels like the good old days.
For all of the investigators out there: this is a sub account. I've been playing Destiny since the beginning.
*Found out that the drops are terrible. Token system awards you the same things over and over. The game mode of IB is fun, but this rng drop reward token bullshit makes me want to stop playing.
**Multiple duplicate drops suck. But it's still fun. Now make normal pvp fun.

It's really concerning since I'm running into the same problem d1s content had when you'd run nightfalls and raids and only get MOTES of light. EXCEPT this time you get legendary shards because well, that's what all of those lower level dupes are going to be right? Dismantled for shards. At 2 tokens a loss and 5 a win, at 10 minutes per match, that's a lot of time to get 400+ only to have the rng give me duplicates. I'd actually like to run around the Iron banner in iron banner gear. Now iron banner rank doesn't matter either. Some lucky person could get a full set on their first 80 tokens. Gear isn't a showcase of skill. It's just a showcase of good rng. Like c'mon. They could've made it with selectable items and made you pay some medallions and legendary shards to Buy the gear you want because Lord knows we are all just sitting on legendary shards from the tons of duplicate items we have dismantled. I just feel like the developers are going backwards with this content. Then it's only here for 7 days but somehow that's a "season"? Wasn't iron banner in d1 there for a month? You could get all of the gear and weapons and it changed every week

I'm just glad I have the option (other than competitive) to play a game mode other than supremacy.

Loot system sucks as usual and it takes way too long with no feeling of working towards anything...and the engram pool has regular items in it as well.. First match I completed all 3 challenges and won. Woo 11 tokens plus the 15 for al 3 challenges.. Now its all 5 or 2 tokens per game for the rest of the day.. Or ill use an alt for challenges again. Either way I don't "want" to login every day to earn more tokens. Especially when I get the same cloak and no in guns every rank I turn it... Have fun grinding a whole gear set on one character let alone 3. They really need to have the vendors sell two items again or whatever. At least then you can work towards something (provided ranks were tied to it) Ill probably just wait til friday and get drunk and play with friends....at least then the monogamy will be digestible. Edit------- *monotony not monogamy

This isn't the Iron banner. This is the crucible with a control playlist. The iron banner took into your light level and basically took the kid gloves off for pvp, but now it's just crucible. They might as well have called it the crucible games or some other event. Listen to Lord Saladin when you play, he doesn't even sound excited about this. Its extremely boring after a while and it's barely rewarding at it's base only to have your hopes dashed when you spend hundreds of tokens only to get duplicates and other gear that was already in the game. I don't know whats wrong with people but when people are like "I love the grind it's great" when you're just repeating mediocre content just to NOT be rewarded for your grinding because you GET a ton of duplicates and not what you actually want..it's not fun to me. Grinding should equal progression towards a set goal,it shouldn't end up as just wasted time.

You mean you just like PvP control right? Because that's literally all Iron Banner is, the only difference is you get extra IB tokens after every match.

I've been playing destiny since day 1 of Destiny 1, and so have my friends. We've been enjoying the IB so far. It feels like old Destiny, the drops are weird, but that the fun of the grind.
