*A Wild Gringo has appeared*
A while back I created the Expansion/Sequel idea for Destiny called The Brumal Insurgence. If you don't care to read the whole thing, it took place after TTK when the Psions held a rebellion with the house of Kings on Europa against the remaining Cabal in the system. Obviously that makes no sense now so this is something new as a Destiny 2 Brumal Insurgence. This isn't really a fanfic, as it focuses more on something that could realistically be put in game. If is made in the manner I did for The Brumal Insurgence (I do implore you check it out first).
Without further adieu...
Prologue
The camera is overlooking the system from the outer regions, Neptune and Uranus are in view. The song "I'd Love To Change The World" by Ten Years After is playing, but it sounds creepily distant and echoey. The camera is slowly turning more towards Neptune with a small Saturn far off in the background.
A voice is heard, it is a gruff sounding exo with a strange mix of disgust and regretfulness in his voice. While he speaks a hive Minidreadnaught comes into view, slowly increasing in size as it moves towards the camera.
Exo: "We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."
The camera is firmly fixed over Neptune and the ships are firmly distinguishable, as are some toombship escorts surrounding it. An unusual noise is emerging underneath the music, which is becoming more clear. The noise is a deep whine, like something a whale would make You can hear the lines from the song "Population keeps on breeding, nation bleeding, still more feeding" before it is abruptly cut off by the Exo, who laughs dryly and smugly to himself before proclaiming
Exo: "The farther we probe into that dark beyond, the more it will push back."
Suddenly, from off screen egg shaped ships made of strange dense web like substance slowly speed into view. They seems to be pulsating or flowing. The web ships quickly reach the small fleet. They attach themselves to the ships and quickly consume them. More ships come into focus and block out everything that isn't web, leaving the screen purely a mess of untransparent web.
At this point the music suddenly grows loud and clear with the lines "I'd love to change the world, but I don't know what to do."
The web separates to show the logo:
