I understand many feel this way.. but it just isn't how my brain works... I play Destiny because the second to second gameplay is more fun than any other shooter. If I didn't think that, I wouldn't play it. looting cool stuff might accent the superb gunplay... but it certainly isn't a primary motivator for me. That said. I clearly see that many don't think like me and the loot is paramount to feeling like time in the game is well spent. I don't think I'll ever get it, but think that the community is being very clear (going all the way up to the most popular destiny streamers)... intense grind at some level of play has to be re-introduced. I am of the opinion that weapon rolls aren't it, but mainly because I think pvp without them is a godsend. I'd be game for bringing intellect, discipline, strength back and searching for that tier 12 armor. I'd prefer that the effects only take affect in pvp if level advantages are enabled. I don't think this is the only change though. They need more things resembling leveling past the final credits. a lot of stuff behind eververse should be rewards for doing tough stuff like Datto suggests in his video. I don't think we should level up every weapon we find... but leveling exotics would be a great way to invest into the exotics you find. I made a post about this myself, but I think it would be cool if they made the max light grind even bigger (earlier soft cap or more levels in general) and had exotics drop at the cap but you can level them past your current light level. so end game grinding for those that play WAY past completing weeklies, you could grind by leveling exotics. I think that would be a cool spin on the end game grind.

  • The gunplay made playing enjoyable but the hunt for the perfect rolled weapon gave purpose to playing. Every time I got an eyasluna there was hope that it would be the one I was playing for. Now I get a better devils and instantly delete it because it's the exact same thing as the last 30 that I've gotten. There's no carrot at the end of the stick. There's not even a stick just the same carrot that you get handed over and over again.

  • yeah. but its a small accent for me. I played endless halo and you didn't get anything for it. I just enjoy playing it. Destiny, I enjoy the world and the gunplay is perfect. That truly is enough for what I care about. I like finding cool loot, but D1 loot actually got in the way of enjoyment of pvp specifically (pve was fine) that is why I'd vote for keeping static perks but bringing back tier 12 style system for rolls. Destiny 1 god rolls weren't weapons that had "cool" and "interesting" perks... they were boring perks that simply removed the guns DESIGNED weakness. I hated that. So I suppose I'd be cool with rolled perks if they didn't have perks that instantly negated a guns weakness. go for unique over buff the stat that was intentionally worse to keep the gun balanced.
