BraveCole and Ventis walked around the abandoned mars complex, the crackling of arc and thunder flashing throughout the cloudy dark skies. The groaning of the decaying metal of the decrepit buildings could also be heard.
"Hmm.. This place is unbelievably creepy." Ventis said. "Lovely."
"Knew you'd like the scenery, little guy. Now, are you ready.." BraveCole trailed off, rubbing his hands together before picking Ventis up and shaking him. "To be a mother -blam!-ing stormballer!?"
"S-Stormballer..? I.. Thought they were called Stormcallers?" Ventis questioned, seemingly unfazed by being in BraveCole's grip and lifted off the ground.
"No, no. By the time I'm done with you, you won't simply be a stormcaller. You'll be a baller. With storms. A stormballer! Haha, can you say storm-ballin'!?
Ventis stared confused, before smiling. "I see. So, The mighty stormballer is a much stronger variant than the average stormcaller. Brilliant! I am ready to stormball, Professor! What's the first step?"
BraveCole dropped Ventis onto the ground as he heard this. "Uhh.. Well.. Hrm.. You gotta.. -blam!-, gimme a minute." BraveCole squeezed his nose bridge and closed his eyes and began snapping, trying to remember.
Becky then materialized and started flying innocently around BraveCole's head. "Hon, he has t-"
"No! Don't tell me. I can remember. Hmm.."
Becky sighed. "Can I at least help you? You know, give you a hint. Everyone likes hints." She said, cheerfully.
"Fine. One hint." BraveCole said.
"He has to find a concentration of arc energy and meditate, calming and controlling the storm." Becky explained, saying it rather quickly. "Oops. Maybe that was a bit too much information for a simple hint, darling." Becky giggled.
"You little booger! I said a hint!" BraveCole said. "Whatever. I knew that."
"Thank you, Becky. You're welcome, BraveCole." Becky spoke. If the small, robotic companion had a mouth, she would have the most mischievous smile.
"So.. Meditation.. I understand!" Ventis yelled, taking off into the complex.
"Wait, sweetie! Not so fast!" Becky yelled after him. BraveCole chuckled.
"That kid's got heart. Come on, he's got about a 5 second head start!" BraveCole said, taking off into a sprint. Becky followed suit.
Ventis then ran into a destroyed lab, one that was opened and exposed to the Cliffside of the martian complex. The floor was flooded, with a bunch of scientific tools floating in the water. Ventis took a couple steps forward, looking out at the sky and the long fall. He peered deep into the storm, as he could feel a surge of arc energy swarm around. He then sat Indian style, resting his hands on his legs and closing his eyes. He began to hum.
"Hmmm...hmmmm.....hrmmmmmm.." His hums began to take a tone of confusion, as he opened his eyes. "Professor?"
"-blam!-. Now my boots are gonna get wet. Hate when my boots get wet. Yeah, Ven?"
"Um.. What am I supposed to meditate about?"
BraveCole began to walk around the flooded room, picking up random objects and throwing them around after a short observation. "I dunno. Electricity or some shit."
Ventis looked off into the distance once more. "Electricity.. Arc.." He said out loud..
"Or some shit," BraveCole repeated. Becky then flew herself into BraveCole's head, hitting him.
"Brave!" She whispered sternly.
BraveCole winced and began rubbing his head. "Sigh. Alright, alright." He walked over to the young warlock, and spoke to him.
"Ventis. Focus on the storm. Concentrate and mold your mind with it; make it one with your very being. Let the arc lightning simply be an extension of your will, and let it be as natural as breathing. Control the storm. Bend it to your desire." BraveCole said, in the most serious tone he's had all day.
Ventis closed his eyes and repeated his teacher. "Control the storm.." And at that very moment, arc energy began to swirl around him, lifting him up off the ground. Crackles of lightning began to flicker off of his body, causing BraveCole to cover his face and slowly back away. "Any second now.." BraveCole muttered.
And in an instant, Ventis let off a burst of arc energy, one that sent the professor flying backward, where he hit a wall. Ventis fell to the floor as well.
BraveCole, seemingly unaffected by the blast, quickly scrambled up and rushed toward Ventis. "Bingo! Time to finish this!" He grabbed the warlock and slung him over his shoulder, and raced out of the room.
"Professor! Where are we going?" Ventis asked.
"Higher ground! You've got enough arc energy in you to complete the ritual!" BraveCole said, urgently. BraveCole lept high onto the ledges, one after the other, until he was on the tallest building. He stared into the dark, stormy sky and noticed a problem. A.. Very big problem. Fallen Skiffs could be seen circling around the complex, and some even boarding onto the ground below.
"Shit! It's the can't-get-ups!" BraveCole shouted.
"Can't-get-ups? Huh?" Ventis questioned.
Becky sighed. "He means the fallen. Oh shit! Erm, I mean shoot. Excuse me. Shoot! The fallen!" Becky then began to erratically scan the sky. "I'm.. Picking up at least seven skiffs, Brave!"
"The can't-get-u-"
"Fallen." Becky corrected.
"Right, fallen. The fallen are probably here to get their grubby mitts on this sweet arc energy to power their shit. Which is honestly okay with me, but they kinda shoot us on sight, so."
"Professor, will this interrupt the ritual?"
"Course not. Here we go, Ven!" BraveCole lifted Ventis high in the air, lion king style. "You're about to become one with the storm! Just concentrate like you were doing before! I got cha!"
Ventis then stared into the sky, getting lost in a trance.
Control the storm.
Right then, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, impacting Ventis and evaporating him into nothingness, as BraveCole was knocked back.
He got up and looked around, Ventis no where to be found. "Oh.. Oh shit." BraveCole got up and began frantically looking around. "Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit. I just killed a -blam!-ing guardian, ohhhh shit." BraveCole said, putting his hands on his head. "Rey-Rey was right. He wasn't ready.." BraveCole looked down, the guilt forming within him.
"Professor." A voice called out. Ventis.
BraveCole looked behind him, and saw the young guardian. He was levitating, engulfed in arc and electricity. He floated for a minute before dropping down and breaking into a slow walk.
