So most of what we're getting is just reskins and we're all excited.
What is modern gaming coming to...
Edit: Just let it really sink in.
"I can't wait to use the things I used 2 years ago in a brand new update! I can't wait to go back to the same places I've been to for the last 2 years. I can't wait to pay for different colored sparrows in a brand new update! I can't wait to use the items they showcased in the past but deliberately withheld to drop during a content drought!"
Seriously. Think about it...
At what point is there actually something new?
We still run around with year 2 weapons, year 1 exotics, on year 1 crucible maps, in year 1 strikes updated for year 2, and it's fcking year 3...

What is any game, especially when you've been playing it for three years? Totanfall2 is a new game and it has basically the same equipment as the old one (admittedly based on only minimal play time)
-
At least they are giving us something. Wouldn't be surprised if they re-use the year 1 raids before destiny two. We can all look forward to destiny two beyond the drought, and if it doesn't live up to it's expectations destiny is likely going to die before they reach their 'year 10'.

Im not excited for icebreaker, never liked it. Im excited for racing and new stuff
-
Omg what is there not to like . Ammo auto replenishes and is a beast. Oh and explosive rounds that does extra damage . Mmmmmmm sorry can't see why anyone would hate this gun
-
It'd be a nice nostolgic feeling to get Ice Breaker back. Though that can't be said for me as I've quit until Bungie officially gets their heads screwed on entirely right.
-
Till destiny 2 comes I think it will be good with some space battles hopeful thinking
-
i dislike the look and feel of the gun. Never liked it
-
The point is that it is refreshing. Something different to do than what we were already doing.
-
It's just something to do. If they can put out little things like this every month or so to get me to play for a week, then that's fine.
-
Agreed. People cant seem to understand that these are not content updates. Stop spamming eververse for a mask and maybe they would actually have to make new content.
-
You have to admit this srl update kills last one, I wasn't a fan of srl btw
-
Why are you still here? As far as I know, this section of the Bungie forums is dedicated to Destiny's playerbase. Surely somebody who hates the game as much as you seem to isn't playing said game. Wouldn't that be silly? In any case, and this has been said time and time again, this content is not intended to be new. Most of Bungie's teams are working on Destiny 2. This game is being serviced by the Live team. We just had a content drop. Was it reskinned? Eh, sure. The enemies were Fallen reskins. It had a new story, raid, and Crucible maps. Think of it this way, we get more content in our single DLCs than Call of Duty players get in their season pass. Another thing to keep in mind, these events are free if you're up-to-date with Destiny. Festival of the Lost, Crimson Doubles and now The Dawning? Plus, we had the April update. These things are put together quite quickly to give us things to do during original content drops. Why are you complaining about reskinned content that is free? Seriously, think about it. You're complaining that a fan-favourite, some original content, some reskinned items, and some new cosmetic stuff are being added. Why?
-
I think a lot of people are irritated because while they present their events as if they're actually adding new stuff when they are not. Then they want you to pay more money to hope rng favors you and gives you a freaking reskin.. Come the -blam!- on! Halo 5 had 6 months of free dlc with soooo much more content. God I wish I didn't hate that game. Halo Reach didn't need microtransactions out the ass and they kept it running smoothly. Just putting that out there.
-
Halo had free content to make up for the lackluster fan reception. Destiny's fanbase is eager to play Destiny more. The people who whine and moan on the forums all day every day are passionate about this game. That's why the DLC isn't free. People are actually willing to pay for it. In any case, Strike Scoring? New. And free. Sparrow Racing? Two NEW tracks. Free. Even the record book is free this time around. Bungie is listening. They're not perfect. Nobody denies that, but most of us play Destiny and keep up to date with it because we think it's worth it. Halo 5's free DLC, much like Titanfall's, is to make up for poor reception from the fans. Titanfall was never a bad game, it just had its issues, so they had to do something to make up for it. Destiny? We're all eager to eat it up. Bungie has made plenty of mistakes, but the game itself still brings us in. That's the difference.

We paid for it with RoI...
-
Live events are funded by microtransactions, not DLC releases. So, no, you didn't. You paid for Rise of Iron to get Rise of Iron and all access to free live updates. In a sense, you paying for DLCs pits you in a VIP membership, much RuneScape's membership program. All content after purchase is free. Even though Runescape does it better.

I call bullshit. Sorry

You're more than welcome to have an opposing view, my friend.

It is just a game, let that sink in for a min. Now that it sunk in make a decision to play or not play. Its that simple.

Edited by JTAssassins: 12/4/2016 11:55:46 PMThis is common knowledge at this point. What more did you expect, sure I'm looking forward to it, knowing very danm well it's all reskins , what is your point?
-
I'm letting it slide because majority of the team.iw working on destiny 2. They are still giving us free stuff. May not be 100% new, but it's new
-
Free lol
-
You're right. My bad. I forgot this event had a 10 dollar price tag
