Balancing Proposal for Secondary Weapons in the Crucible
I'm not sure how much this subject is discussed around here, but I have an idea on how to balance secondary weapons in the Crucible.
Current Secondary Settings:
-Players start the match with base secondary ammo (usually around 1 clip with a couple reserve rounds).
-Secondary ammo crates re-spawn every 2 minutes. Ammo doesn't instantly de-spawn, regardless of player proximity (ex. a player's teammate picks up special ammo crate, ammo remains until player picks up ammo). Primary ammo doesn't despawn.
-Secondary ammo pickup grants around 1 clip and extra primary ammo.
Proposed Secondary Settings:
-Players start the match with no base secondary ammo
-Secondary ammo crates re-spawn every 3 minutes. Ammo de-spawns in the event of an ally collecting ammo and player is not in close proximity (similar properties to heavy ammo conditions). Primary ammo doesn't despawn.
-Secondary ammo pickup grants %50 less than the current ammo pickups.
There's also the whole Elimination/Trials settings stats I'd have to look into. Obviously with everyone carrying power weapons as secondary weapons, there are a lot more things to consider than just simple gametype settings. However, I think this wouldn't be a bad place to start. Thoughts?
